C Math 102 Spring, 2018 Dr. G. Schneller
------- 70
D L OK! A lot of points were lost from failing to comprehend the
------- 55 instructions on the midterm exam; understandable under time
Other Letters pressure. You will not be under such pressure for the "REWRITE",
of course, so READ these instructions CAREFULLY! ! J
A. You may rewrite any question upon which you lost 2 points, or more, except for the Proof in
Problem X. For any of the test problems on which you lost n points, you are eligible to get back at
most (n/2) points by following the procedure below. [Note! I round down or up alternately]

B. The "REWRITE" is DUE the Thursday class 1 week from receipt of your graded Test & the
posting of these specifications, which means the due date is Thursday, March 29th. RETURN your
entire test with the "REWRITE"!

B. For any Problem that you are rewriting, REWRITE that entire Problem as it appeared on Test;
which means you are to:
1. On a fresh piece of paper, legibly handcopy or xerox your exam question itself, in
its entirety, including figures, tables etc.
THEN 2. In a different ink or pencil or whatever, produce your new, improved
and
hopefully correct answer to that question. [I need to be able to tell where your
work is!]
& ALSO 3. Use only one side of each piece of paper that you turn in for your
"REWRITE", please, [though you can put several rewritten items on it.]

D. Furthermore if there were any special circumstances that affected your performance, or if you
feel that your answer, which I marked wrong, was actually right or not understood, or partly so,
this is the place to argue your case in writing: FYou must try to convince Me of your case: not
always easy. But I love a good argument almost as much as I enjoy a good laugh. See if you can
change my mind and/or teach me something; others have done so before you. You cannot lose any
further points on the "REWRITE"!

E. You are allowed to confer with other members of this class, or with me via e-mail, or use the text
or any library book; but you are not allowed to pick the brains of any Faculty or Tutors.
