Data collected by the SolarPower Manager regarding the power generated by your solar
energy system can deviate from those displayed by your electric meter. SolarPower Manager
data must not be used for billing purposes.

SolarPower Manager can be connected to the internet via additional Router. You should take
adequate safety measures via superior data-stream hardware and software (fireproofing wall).

4 Installation of SolarPower Manager

SolarPower Manager can be used as a tabletop or wall-mounted unit. If you choose to mount
the device on a wall, you can either mount it directly on the wall or on top hat rails. The
installation is described on the following pages.
Selecting an Installation Location
Please pay attention to the following required ambient conditions.
 SolarPower Manager is suitable for installation in enclosed spaces.
 Protect SolarPower Manager from dust, wet conditions, corrosive substances and
vapors.
 A 220V socket must be nearby.
 The ambient temperature must be between -20 ℃ and +50 ℃.
 The distance to the inverter may not be greater than the maximum permitted distance
of the corresponding four-line RS485 type.
 The distance to SolarEnvi monitor may not be greater than the maximum permitted
distance of the corresponding two-line RS485 type.
4.1 Tabletop Device
If you use SolarPower Manager as a tabletop unit, please follow the points below:
 Lay the cables so that their weight does not cause them to disconnect.
 Do not cover SolarPower Manager. This can cause heat to accumulate in the device.
4.2 Wall Mounting
1. Use the drilling template to determine the position of SolarPower Manager on the wall.
2. Mark the drilling holes with a pen.
3. Drill the holes at the marked positions and screw in the screws.
4. Leave about a 6mm clearance between the screw head and the wall.
5. Hang SolarPower Manager onto the screws.

6
4.3 Top Hat Rail Installation
1. Hook SolarPower Manager with both lower brackets under the lower edge of the top hat
rail.
2. Press SolarPower Manager upwards.
3. Snap SolarPower Manager into the upper brackets.

4.4 Interfaces

See figure above, Tab1 is plug-in power supply (5V DC) interface; Tab2 is RS232 interface
prepared for future functions; Tab3 is USB interface supporting USB storing device; Tab4 is
Ethernet interface; Tab5 is four-line RS485 interface, through which SolarPower Manager is
communicated with the inverter. To connect the inverter with SolarPower Manager, you need
to plug respectively four-line RS485 cable interfaces of both sides into the inverter and
SolarPower Manager. Tab6 is two-line RS485 interface through which SolarPower Manager
can be communicated with SolarEnvi monitor. To connect SolarEnvi monitor with
SolarPower Manager, you need to plug one side of the two-line RS485 cable with RJ11 plug
into the corresponding interface of SolarPower Manager, and the other side into SolarEnvi
monitor.

5 Connecting to the Laptop/PC

5.1 Connection within a Local Network
SolarPower Manager is equipped with a built-in network connection, which enables it to be
connected to any Ethernet network. The laptop/PC can be connected to SolarPower Manager
via switch or router. Then user can use the patch cable provided with SolarPower Manager.

5.2 Connecting to a PC Directly

A PC can be connected directly to SolarPower Manager, and user should use the crossover
cable provided with SolarPower Manager.

5.3 PC Setting
SolarPower Manager must connect to Ethernet network before use it for the first time,
To access SolarPower Manager, PC must be in the same IP address range and subnet as
SolarPower Manager. SolarPower Manager has the following factory settings:
 IP address: 192.168.0.208
 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Network settings of the laptop/PC as below steps:

The following descriptions apply to Windows XP with Internet Explorer 6. The descriptions
are similar and should be recognizable when using other Windows.
1. Open the control panel to enter network connections, and double click the local
connection.
2. Click “Property”, in the General tab choose “Internet protocol (TCP/IP)”, then click
“Property” to enter “192.168.0.200” as the IP address and “255.255.255.0” as the
subnet mask, no need to set default gateway and DNS server, then click “Confirm”
If the IP address 192.168.0.200 is already allocated in your network, please choose another
IP address. Never choose 192.168.0.0 or 192.168.0.255, as allocation of these IP addresses is
not permitted.
3. Open the browser, enter http://192.168.0.208 in the address bar, and then click
“Enter” into SolarPower Manager Homepage.
