Luke Longren,

Dear Luke,

This letter is in regards to your job performance. I have concerns regarding your prompt
arrival for desk duties in the course of your employment in the department of Residential Life.
My concerns are noted below:

• On three occasions, you arrived late to your scheduled desk shift which resulted
emergency coverage being necessary.

Your performance does not meet the standard for a staff member in this department. You are
being placed on employment probation for one month, lasting until October 25th, 2016. As a
result if the situation does not improve, you may be removed from your position as a desk
assistant. You must complete the following:

• Schedule a meeting with Assistant Hall Director Donavon Barbarisi.

• Write a 1-page paper illustrating how you can improve on managing your time, and
being prompt at the desk, delivered to Assistant Hall Director Barbarisi, to be
delivered by September 30th, 2016.

Should you need additional support to succeed in your Desk Assistant position, please
work with your supervisor to make arrangements.

Your contract does provide for an appeal of this decision. If you feel this decision was
made in error or have other legitimate grounds, you may file to have your appeal heard by the
Director of Residential Life, Christina Hurtado. If you wish to appeal this decision, prepare a
written statement and any supporting documents, and contact the Residential Life office to make
an appointment.

This letter is to serve as documentation that your actions have been documented and that
you have received a warning as of September 25, 2016. A copy of this letter will be placed in
your employment file.

Sincerely,

Donavon Barbarisi
