8C Have been learning Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know.

Part 1: (up to 35 minutes)

In the first half of the lesson they should continue to rehearse their cover version and prepare for a
performance today.

Each performance must have a clear sense of Melody, Harmony (including bass) and Rhythm.

Sheets and resources are on the stage (centre). Only those who are singing may use their device to
listen to the song on youtube.

Part 2: (25 mins)

Each group should perform to the class. If you wish, lead a discussion on whether each group
displayed all three of Melody, Harmony and Rhythm and how successful/unsuccessful their
performance was.

Part 3: (If time)

Next lesson students will cover a song of their choice in a group of their choice. They can use any
remaining time to get into these groups and decide on a song that would be well suited to them.
