As the Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth
University I extend a very warm welcome to the
students who are desirous of seeking admissions in
our different Constituent units.
Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent organization
of this University, celebrated last year as its Golden
Jubilee Year. The celebration concluded on 25th of
June 2015 at a grand ceremony at the auspicious
hands of Honorable Pranab Mukharjee, the
president of India. At this moment my mind goes
back over a period of five decades. Bharati
Vidyapeeth initiated its academic journey with a
single school. Now it is one of the premier
educational institutions in the country, having under
its umbrella more that 180 educational units
including 80 colleges with 12 faculties. They include
colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering,
Pharmacy, Hotel Management and the like. There
may not be any disciplines either conventional or
emerging for which Bharati Vidyapeeth has not
established its institution.
Within a short period of 20 years or so,
Bharati Vidyapeeth University has established its
academic reputation even across the national
borders. Its high level of academic excellence is
underscored by the fact that the Ministry of Human
Resource Development, Government of India has
given 'A' grade status to this University. The
University's another remarkable achievement is that
it has been awarded a prestigious 'A' grade by the

NAAC both in its first accreditation and also in
reaccreditation. An approval by the UGC under
Section 12B of its Act which our University has
received by another feather in the cap of the
University.
We at this University are committed to make

It has also been our endeavour to provide
continuously updated education in a congenial
environment to our students. I am very happy that a
very large number of our past students have
established their reputation as Medical Practitioners,
Engineers, Pharmacy Industrialists and the like not
only at the national level but also at the international
level. Research is a focal area of activities of our
University. We have three Research Institutes as
constituent units of University. They are doing
remarkable work. However, our aim is to develop this
University as a Research University.

At the outset, let me welcome all of you who
are intending to join our University.
I am extremely happy to note that you have
selected our University for your further studies. All
of you know that Bharati Vidyapeeth University is
one of the leading Universities in the country having
‘A’ grade awarded by Ministry of Human Resource
Development, Government of India.
It is also accredited with prestigious ‘A’ grade
in 2004 and reaccredited with ‘A’ grade in 2011 by the
NAAC, Bangalore. It is also significant to note that
some of its constituent units have ISO 2001-2009
certification. Our University has excellent
infrastructure for all its constituent Institutions such
as well-structured spacious buildings, continuously
updated laboratories and hostels with all necessary
amenities and facilities.

v Candidate who has qualified the LL.B. Entrance Test 2016 shall be admitted to B.A LL.B. (5 year program) at
Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College, Pune in the order of merit secured by him, subject to intake capacity.
v Candidate shall secure minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in LL.B. Entrance Test 2016 to qualify the LL.B
Entrance Test.
v LL.B Entrance Test 2016 is scheduled on Sunday 12.06.2016 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the centres

v Candidates who have qualified the LL.B. Entrance Test 2016 and called for counselling through website
notification can attend the first counselling at Pune or New Delhi on 25th June 2016 for admission at New
Law College, Pune only.
v He/She shall confirm his/her admission by depositing the required original documents and paying the total
fees prescribed for the program on the date of counselling. Subsequent claim for admission will not be
entertained ,after the date of counselling.
v Admission secured by the candidate shall remain provisional till he / she clears the eligibility requirements
prescribed by the University & Bar Council of India. In case of non- fulfillment of eligibility the
provisional admission stands cancelled at any stage without prior notice to the candidate.
v In case of cancellation of admission the rules of University shall be applicable for refund of tuition fee.

v The Entrance Examination fee is Rs. 1000/- ( One thousand only). Fee can be paid in cash at the

Bharati Vidyapeeth Which has grown from mere a sapling to an ark marks the completion of its 50 glorious years of existence
and academic excellence in the arena of education.
Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent organization of this University is one of the largest educational organization in the country. It
has 171 educational units under its umbrela including 67 colleges and institute of conventional and professional disciplines..
The Department of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India on the recommendations of the University Grants
Commission accorded the status of "Deemed to be University" intially to cluster of 12 units of Bharati Vidyapeeth. Subsequently, 17
additional colleges/institutes were brought within the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University vide various notifications of the Govt. of
India. Bharati Vidyapeeth University commenced it functioning on 26th April 1996. In the year 2011, Ministry of Human Resource
Development has awarded 'A' grade University status to Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University for its innovative programs,

RE-ACCREDITED WITH 'A' GRADE BY NAAC

During the last 19 years or so, the University has achieved higher pinnacles of academic excellence and has established its reputation to such an
extent that it attracts students not only from various parts of India but also from abroad. According to a survey conducted by Association of
Indian Universities, this University is one among the top ten Universities in the country preferred by the overseas students for admissions. At
present, there are more than 750 overseas students from 47 countries on the rolls of constituent units of this University.
During the last 19 years, there has been tremendous academic expansion of the University. University conducts in all 305 courses in its
constituent units, of them 108 are Post Graduate, 45 are Under Graduate and 55 Diploma level courses. 12 Fellowship and 5 certificate courses.
All the professional courses which the University conducts such as those of Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering etc., have approval of the
respective statutory councils, viz., Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India, All India Council for Technical Education etc.
The University is a throbbing center of research activities and has launched Ph.D. programmes in 77 subjects and M.Phil in 3 subjects. It has
also introduced quite few innovative academic programmes such as Masters in Clinical Optometry, M.Tech. in Nano Technology etc.
The University's performance and achievements were assessed by the "National Assessment and Accreditation Council" and it was
reaccredited with a prestigious "A" grade in 2011. Some programmes of the constituent units such as College of Engineering at Pune,
Management Institute in Delhi and others have also been accredited by "National Board of Accreditation". Three constituent units of Bharati
Vidyapeeth Deemed University are also the recipients of ISO 9001-2001 certifications.

INTERNATIONA L MOOT COURT COMPETITITIONS:
The students of the College have participated and won several
international and national moot court competitions during last 5
years. The College is ranked among top law colleges by India
Mooting League. The College has recently conducted Justice P.N.
Bhagwati 5th International Moot Court Competition on Human
Rights wherein 14 international and 30 national teams from top law
schools participated. The competition was inaugurated by Hon’ble
Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, Judge, Supreme Court of India and the
prizes to winners were distributed by Hon’ble Mr. Justice N.V.
Ramana, Judge, Supreme Court of India. This year the College has
also signed an MoU with Surana & Surana international Attorneys

RESEARCH CENTRES:
The College is recognized by UGC under 2f & 12 (b) of the UGC Act
for research and development grants. The College has Indo-
European Legal Study &International Research Centre and also
International IPR Research Centre. This College publishes Bharati
Law Journal (ISSN: 2278-6996). During the last 3 years, the faculty
has published more than 100 articles in reputed national and
international journals and 18 Books. Minor and Major Research
Projects are also undertaken.
LEGAL AID:
The College has Legal Aid Cell which is administered by senior
advocates from Supreme Court and High Courts. It provides free
legal aid to the needy and poor persons who seek social justice.

and have obtained 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC &
ST applicants.
Syllabus for LL.B Entrance Test 2016 :
v LL.B. Entrance Test – 2016 will be of 100 marks.
v The question paper will consist of 100 multiple choice questions .
v There is no negative marking.
v There will be 25 questions on each of the following sections in the paper -
a) English Grammar, Usage & Comprehension b) Legal aptitude, Analytical ability & Logical
Reasoning c) Current Legal News & General Knowledge d) Social Sciences with an emphasis on
Indian Constitution & Political System in India.

Refund of Fees
1) In the event of student withdrawing before the starting of the particular course, the entire fee collected from
student, after a deduction of the processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only) shall be refunded.
2) If a student submit his application for cancellation of admission in a prescribed form (duly completed)within
15 calendar days from the date of commencement of the particular course, 10 percent of total amount of
tuition fees prescribed for the course will be deducted form the amount of tuition fee paid by him and the
balance amount will be refunded.
3) If a student submits his application for cancellation of admission in a prescribed form (duly completed) within
30 calendar days from the date of commencement of the particular course, 20 percent of the total amount of
tuition fees prescribed for the course will be deducted from the amount of tuition fee paid by him and the
balance amount will be refunded.
4) If a student submits an application for cancellation of admission after 30 calendar days from the date of
commencement of the particular course, no refund will be made and Rule (5) may also invoked. However, if
the application for cancellation of admission is submitted before the last date prescribed for admission, and if
the vacated seat is filled by another candidate, 25% of the amount of tuition fee prescribed for the course will
be deducted from the amount of tuition fee paid and the balance amount will be refunded.
5) If any student admitted to any course leaves the course after the prescribed last date for admission of the
particular course no refund will be made and he will be required to pay full amount of tuition fee for the
remaining entire duration of the course.
Filling of Entrance Examination Application Form & Entrance Exam Fee
1. Application form shall be filled by the candidate in block letters with Black / Blue ball point pen.
2. The Candidate shall fill all the columns relevant and shall affix latest passport photograph.
3. D.D. of Rs.1000/- towards Entrance exam fee shall be drawn in favour of the Registrar B.V.D.U., Pune on any
Nationalized Bank payable at Pune.
4. The D.D. shall be enclosed with the application form with name & address of candidate written on the
backside of the D.D.
5. The attested photo copy of the qualifying examination may be enclosed with the form (except for those
candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination & whose results are awaited.)

RULES OF ADMISSION AND COUNSELLING PROGRAMME

¥ The candidate shall secure minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in LL.B. Entrance Test 2016 to qualify the

LL.B Entrance Test.

¥ Every candidate shall visit the law college website: www.bvpnlcpune.org from time to time for updated

information and clarifications regarding counselling and admission schedules.

¥ Candidates who have qualified the LL.B. Entrance Test 2016 and are called for counselling (subject to intake

capacity) through website notification shall attend the first counselling for admission at New Law College,
Pune / B. V. Institute of Management & Research, New Delhi on 25th June 2016. The candidates will not be
sent individual letters of counselling for provisional admission by the University or College.

¥ Admission for B.A.LL.B. 5 year Course shall be made on the basis of merit secured by the candidate at LL.B.

Entrance Test 2016 as per the requirement of intake capacity. First the aided section seats will be allotted to

the students in the order of Merit and subject to intake capacity in open category and then seats in unaided

section shall be allotted.

¥ The student shall confirm his/her admission by paying the total fees prescribed in the brochure on the date of

Counselling. The fee can be paid in Cash /through D.D. in favour of Principal, New Law College, Pune drawn

on any nationalized bank payable at Pune.

¥ If any seats remain vacant it will be filled by subsequent couselling which shall be notified on the website of

college from time to time.

¥ The eligible candidate will lose his/her claim for admission if he fails to attend the counselling on the

specified date for admission in B.A.LL.B. 5 year Course for academic year 2016-17.

¥ The admission shall remain provisional unless the candidate clears his/her eligibility requirements of the

University. Provisional admission can be cancelled at any stage, if found not eligible without any notice to the

concerned candidate.

Interpretation & Decision Making Authority

¥ Differences of opinion & disputes arising in the interpretation and implementation of Clauses in this
brochure, if any, will be referred to the Vice-Chancellor of this University and his decision in this regard shall
be final.

Court Jurisdiction
¥ Any Legal matter arising out of the admission procedure of the Law Course, through LL.B. Entrance Test
2016 of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune - 30, will be under the jurisdiction of Court at Pune
Only.
Ragging
¥ Ragging in any form is prohibited and is an offence governed by Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act,
1999 and UGC Regulations 2009
¥ Ragging within or outside educational institution is prohibited and is an offence.
¥ Punishment for ragging is Imprisonment upto 2 years & / or fine upto Rs. 10,000/- . Student convicted of
offence of Ragging shall be dismissed from the college and will not be eligible for admission in any other
educational institution for a period of 5years

Hostel accommodation
¥ Limited Hostel accommodation is available on the campus both for boys and girls (10 seats for boys & 5 seats
for girls). The same will be given on merit basis. The hostel fee once paid is not refundable.

Miscelleneous
¥ After exhausting the list of students who have qualified the Entrance Test, if any seats are left out the same
will be allotted to the other candidates who had appeared for Law Entrance Test 2016 in the order of Merit
secured by them through subsequent counselling and spot admission.
¥ The Vice Chancellor shall be the competent authority to lay down the rules for admission in case of vacant
seats if any after exhausting the total list of merit students/additional section accorded by BCI.

Moot Court activities are indeed luminous exercises mandatory for the law students without which success hardly gets any
meaning. BVDU NLC pride itself for conducting extensive mooting exercise from the students. The Moot Court Society of
the College charily pulverize and blends the mooting and other debating skills of the students, make them learn the law
moot court way and prepare them for their epic battle in the courtrooms to seek justice.
The law college was ranked 8th among top law schools in India in international mooting league through a survey carried by
Legally India.com, for the year 2009-10. New Law College team brought laurels at Stetson International Environmental
Moot Court Competition 2010 by securing 2nd position at Philip Jessups International Moot Court Competition 2010 they
