A vertical well was drilled to 3500 feet with the drilling assy mentioned below, BHA#1.
A gas reservoir had been penetrated at 3499 ft .
This drilling assy was pulled out of hole and a 8-1/2”coring assy was made up to cut a
core. The drilling assy had been modified to suit the coring , see BHA #2.
A 60 ft core was succesfully cut. Bottoms was circulated up prior to the trip out.
After you witnessed the flowcheck at the start of the trip and the pulling of the first few
stands, (who came out very smoothly) , you consider the job under control and you went
for your lunch. After you stuffed yourselves with a good meal you return to the drillfloor
to see how the trip is getting on and the driller shows you the tripsheet as shown below.
