parts of online studying which involves the preparation of both students and their teachers for the

transition to online learning. It gives a range of online schemes that are specifically for the

courses in the helping professions including Blackboard Collaborate, Blackboard Vista and

Moodle. There is also a discussion on the online supervision of students who are beginners plus

range of people from the students and other teachers in the K–12, public, and academic library

communities. There has been an increased use of the internet over the years and so many online

technologies which have led to the desire of making the librarians comfortable in these

environments. The authors provide an introduction to online teaching and learning that details

basic techniques and technical standards and identifies best practices for design, instructor

development, and student assessment.

Jung, I. (2014) Culture and Online Learning: Global Perspectives and Research.

This book delivers an exceptional exploration of culture in online education from a

universal viewpoint. Culture has a predominant role in so many sectors like investments,

delivery, development planning, design and even the online education which it directly

influences the outcome. The book shows, in detailed form, how the learning cultures and the

digital cultures interconnect, giving a guide on how to incorporate the cultural needs with the so

many inventive chances created by online learning. The authors have also delivered, in this book,

an inclusive introduction to the role of culture in online education. The guide is good for all

people who work with the online students from all over the world.

Lee, J. (2015) Faculty Training and Approach to Online Education: Is there a Connection?
This paper provides practical guidance for preparing long-distance education programs

that include online learning. Due to the rise in the number of people interested in studying all

over the world from different universities and colleges, online learning needs to be developed to

allow their education irrespective of their location. As such, educators are in need to be trained

on the best ways to conduct the learning. The authors of the paper describe how to create high-

quality learning outcomes, using online terminology correctly, and fully utilizing the

management system capabilities.

Wong, L. (2014) Student Attitudes to traditional and online methods of Delivery.
This paper explores the various opinions of students on the two methods of delivery that

is the traditional and online methods of delivery. As the number of online teaching services

increases, there is a shift on the students’ part who now prefer it to the old, traditional way of

teaching. However, each student has a different perception of the methods. The authors have, in

Kidd, T. (2011) Adult Learning Collection: Online Education and Adult Learning.
This publication talks about the current matters and trends which emerge in the field of e-

learning for adults and the instructions for designing better services or products in the online

platform. Education has become an essential thing worldwide. So many people are pursuing it

including the older generation. Since the adults who are getting educated are on the rise, there is

need to develop a way of learning that accommodates them comfortably and that is the online

learning. The author managed to provide the links between instructional design, e-learning,

online education and the methods of adult learning. The publication suits best the educators of

the adults in various universities worldwide.

Keengwe, J. (2015) Models of Improving and optimizing online and Blended Learning in

Higher Education.

The paper looks at the advantages and costs of making use of technology- controlled

instructional environments. The demand for instructional technology has been on the rise over

the years as an addition to or replacement for, the old in- class instructional method. The main

reason for this being that the classrooms are currently being occupied by a generation of students

who desire to get involved with the course material in a practical way rather than the old

theoretical method. The paper has explained that the instructional technology could provide other

methods of communicating to explain issues to the learner. It further describes how technology is

a tool for optimizing performance for students, librarians, researchers and even the educators.

Lundin, L. L. (2013) ELearning.

This paper gives an exclusive report on a study of a customer relations team which

includes where work is performed or co-located, distributed and as well as mobile the word is

moving to a stage where there will be more organizations with their strengths on intensive

communication. Moreover, the stage involves increased mobile work hence the need to learn and

understand how to support learning in such work. The publication has shown how collaborative

learning in the team has enabled the design of an IT support for improved learning.

Pastore, R. (2002) ELearning in Education: An Overview.

The paper examines the development and improvement of distance learning to favor

and interactive video to web-based instruction. The distant students need to be instructed by their

EFFICANY OF ONLINE LEARNING 6

This article gives an emphasis on the roles played by culture in online learning giving an

account of how culture is contested and highlights the challenges of providing an all-

comprehensive definition. Learning and culture form a perfect example of indistinctly linked

elements that endlessly work together and shape each other. Online learning, therefore, increases

recommends a culturally inclusive online learning.

for entrenched library services, including those examining the role of librarians in online

platforms. The unstable library setting, proof of the link between school libraries and student

success, and initial instructional design ideas associated with the combination of libraries in

digital learning platforms all support the need for exploration in this area. The chapter compares

the research with the early steps achieved by school libraries in relation to online embedded

efforts.
