Core aspects of our coaching approach

The systemic approach as a basis for coaching and the development of authenticity, presence and
mindfulness are the core aspects of this training as a systemic coach.
The systemic approach examines the interactions within a context and how these
interactions affect results, values, goals, relationships, etc. The systemic-constructivist
approach assumes that people construct their own reality and that this reality, this
subjective truth, is to be respected.

Authenticity is an essential characteristic for coaches and managers. Being real, being honest
and being able to connect results in authentic action.

Presence means being present. Presence allows the perception of the various options
and perspectives that exist in the present moment. Creativity and directed strength
develop from it. Presence generates openness and a respectful interaction with the
uncertainty of the moment.

Mindfulness is consciously directed attention, accompanied by a synchronization of mind,

heart and body. It is the basis for the coach's differentiated perception of himself and the client,
as well as the space in which the coaching process develops.

Coaching provides the framework for people to develop, a space in which goals are reached and issues
are clarified. In this rapidly changing world the development of people and their potential is essential –
regardless of whether this potential is personal, corporate or social. The client is an expert at his
solutions, the coach is an expert at finding the way to those solutions.

Coaching means taking responsibility for the space in which the client moves. The coach provides the
frame – mentally, emotionally and temporally – for the development and/or achieving of objectives of
individuals and teams in the corporate context.

Coaching can be carried out in different settings on different topics:

• organization development

• change processes

• management and team development

• as a single event independent of other processes

This training is carried out in cooperation with the Kalapa Leadership

Academy Cologne.

Components

In the training course, the modules are linked by means of webinars, homework, study groups, teacher
coaching and individual coaching as well as applying the acquired knowledge in the corporate
practice.

Teaching modules - attendance seminars

In the attendance modules role plays are the essential elements of the practical
sessions.Theoretical impulses are experienced immediately in practice and direct feedback
makes regular learning loops possible for continuous improvement. This provides a testing
ground before the participants embark on 'live' coaching in a business context or in their own
consulting practice.

Webinars
Professionals teach theoretical concepts, mindfulness methods and, above all, neurophysiology
in a practically relevant manner.

Learning in between
The input provided will ensure that the learning process continues between modules and will
reinforce the practice-oriented theory.

Intervisions groups

This is where the participants practice supervising each other to intensify the mindfulness
exercises together. These groups take place during attendance and virtual meetings.

Master coaching
Participants will present their own cases and projects that will be discussed in the group
context to integrate the systemic knowledge more and more into their own field of work.
These meetings will be run by a Master Coach.

Individual coaching

On the one hand, there will be reflection on the participants' development within the training,
on the other hand we will focus on personal issues that may be an obstacle for professional
work. There will be time here for any questions on the practice of mindfulness.

Our approach

The systemic-constructivist approach to coaching

People live in systems. Corporate systems are particularly complex systems. They can not be described or
influenced by a linear mode of explanation of cause and effect. Complex systems can not be controlled. They
organize themselves and are not predictable in their reactions to different stimuli. Constructivist means that
the system members themselves construct their innate perspective and their interpretations of how the world
works. Problems are therefore to be understood as competent attempts at finding solutions. Similarly, it is
assumed that a client already has all the necessary resources in himself to generate further, possibly more
appropriate solutions.

A coachee is always part of a system. He or she is involved in a network of interactions that the coaching
needs to consider. These interactions need to be examined to see how they impact on the coachee and vice
versa. To be successful in coaching, the following is essential

a) a solution and resource-oriented approach to avoid problem trances

b) a constructivist view which ensures that the coachee’s individual point of view is appreciated
c) to meet the client at eye level and to embraces his uniqueness with curiosity and the knowledge that
the complexity of the system originates from the coachee
d) to enhance the involvement of this system by means of appropriate methods in order to broaden
perspectives
e) to meet the coachee with openness, benevolence and respect

Mindfulness and Systemic Coaching

„Mindfulness is a particular form of attentiveness, which is intentional, refers to the current moment
and is not judgmental. " (John Kabat-Zinn)

Mindfulness is a very natural ability of every human being. However, most people do not cultivate this ability,
they do not train it.

Meanwhile, many studies have proven how constructive mindfulness exercises affect our ability to
concentrate, and influences our self and space perception, our health, minds and our brains.

Besides imparting systemic tools, methods and an understanding of processes and systems, we want to
strengthen the future coaches‘ resilience, self awareness and the ability to self-reflect.

Therefore, a great deal of time and space is allocated to the topics of mindfulness and sustainability. We are
convinced that due to the increasing complexity of systems, this approach is essential to synchronize heart,
mind and body and will bring strength and peace to the processes even in turbulent times.

As clients frequently bring up the topi of burnout in coaching contexts, mindfulness trainings can also be a
support for such clients to acquire clarity and peace in times of stress.

www.systeamotion.de
Why mindfulness training in coaching?
As already determined by Milton Erickson or concepts such as NLP or the systemic-constructivist-oriented
pioneers, our respective focus of attention affects our perception and its meaning.

If we continually fix our attention on what is not working, we will never find out what actually works. Our
perception then is limited in its freedom.

This freedom can be extended by doing mindfulness exercises. The longer mindfulness is trained and is
integrated into everyday life, the more a "360 degree" perception is encouraged and experienced. The
awareness of this "360 degree" perception opens up a new space from which many perceptions can now be
selected in order to provide an adequate response for each situation. Mindfulness training helps to build on
this ability to select, and opens up completely new perspectives for both the coach and coachee.

Research / Evaluation
Neuroscience has made a major contribution in explaining the phenomena and effects of the different
systemic hypnotherapeutic approaches.

For this reason, we have concentrated on the topic of neurosciences (neurophysiology) and incorporated into
the curriculum useful findings that are relevant to the topic of mindfulness and the coaching process, always
bearing in mind that this research is still in its infancy.

Participants will be tested by means of scientific tests (Attention Network Test) and through batteries of
questions at the beginning and at the end of our training course. The results are evaluated by an independent
scientific institute. On the one hand this will show the participant how his or her attention focusing has
changed – on the other hand, to what extent the subjective perception of centering, composure and
leadership skills have improved.
