ACTIVITY 1 - WARM-UP

AIMS:

 To get SS involved into the lesson

We have learnt about some jobs so far …can you name them ?What about a
doctor? What does a doctor do ? Ss elicit the answer : A doctor helps / cures

ACTIVITY 2 : READING - PRESENTATION

AIMS : To give Ss practice in listening/ reading for general understanding and specific
information and exposes them to the new language.

PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING

T asks Ss to open their textbooks at pages 42 and 43 and then Ss T–Ss 15’
listen to a conversation while looking at the picture and reading.

They read it individually and as a whole class .

T gets Ss elicit some words and structures ( a rash, a headache, a


cold, stomachache, toothache , cough syrup, skin cream , indoors ,
should / shouldn’t ). T may use some flashcards to facilitate
understanding of vocabulary.

T asks Ss to do ex. 2/ pg 42 , checking reading comprehension.

T write new vocabulary on the whiteboard. I’ve got a headache/ a

ACTIVITY 3 : LANGUAGE STUDY - PRACTICE

AIMS : To give Ss practice in using the new vocabulary and structures

worksheet 1 . T prompts them with names of illnesses to practice vocabulary.
