West Virginia, making its 29th appearance in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, recorded an 85-
68 victory over Murray State to raise its season record to 25-10. This was the first meeting
between the two schools.
The Mountaineers have now won 25 games for a fourth straight season. WVU is 104-38
since the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign.
West Virginia has won 19 of its last 30 NCAA Tournament games.
West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins is now 844-340 in his 36 seasons as a head coach,
the third-winningest active Division I coach behind Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski and Jim
Boeheim, head coach at Syracuse University.
West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins ranks seventh among the NCAA’s all-time
winningest coaches with 844 wins. Jim Calhoun is in sixth place with 873 victories.
West Virginia is 67-5 under Bob Huggins when shooting 50 percent or better from the field.
The Mountaineers shot .516 (32-for-62) from the floor against Murray State.
West Virginia is 200-38 under Bob Huggins when leading at halftime.
Jevon Carter had another outstanding game for West Virginia against Murray State. Carter
scored a team-high 21 points along with eight assists, six steals and five rebounds in 39
minutes of play.
Jevon Carter continues to add to his four school records. Carter now has 233 season assists,
321 steals and 103 season steals. Carter is also averaging 2.26 career steals per game.
West Virginia has made at least one 3-point field goal in 631 consecutive games. The
Mountaineers tallied four three-pointers in eleven attempts against Murray State.
Murray State Game Notes
Murray State had the second longest win streak in the nation at 13 games until the Racers
lost today to West Virginia 85-68.
Murray State ended its season 26-6 overall.
The Racers were led by Terrell Miller Jr with game-high 27 points and a game-high 17
rebounds. His 17 rebounds were one short of his career-high 18 boards against Jacksonville
State on 3/3/18.

This was the Racers 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament today against West Virginia.
Murray State will be returning three of their five starters which are Shaq Buchanan, Ja
Morant and Brion Sanchious
