‘‘I
have known the activities of Epapsy for
Testimonials many years and I also collaborated with this
organization in different capacities: at the
beginning, when I was the responsible of the
Laboratory of Social Psychiatry and Epidemiology at the
Mario Negri Institute of Milan, Italy and eventually, during
my 13 years tenure as the director of the Department of
Mental Health and Substance Abuse of the World Health
Organization in Geneva.

During all these years of collaboration I had the pleasure

and the privilege to appreciate how Epapsy’s action was
constantly inspired by public health values and, at the same
time, without the bureaucratic inefficiencies that too often
distinguish public systems. I have also appreciated Epapsy’s
ability to provide concrete implementation of cost-effective
mental health care and services always framed in a vibrant
cultural curiosity towards innovative trans-disciplinary
approaches. Finally, I have appreciated the outstanding
technical level of Epapsy staff which operate with high
quality professional skills and passionate daily commitment
to the most vulnerable and underserved.

In conclusion, I consider Epapsy a unique mix of high

standards of technical and ethical know-how, which has
represented and still represent an influential reference for
Greece and Europe’’.
