SPLICING YARD

The steel piles received from the suppliers/vendors will be stacked in groups at the pile splicing
yard. Pile jointing will be done by full penetration single V-joint. Qualified welders will be
deployed for this activity.

The piles will be spliced at the splicing yard to achieve full length. Once the piles splicing is
completed for a pile, radiography will be carried out on the pile joints. After radiography is
completed positively, the fabricated pile will be shifted onto adjacent area where, touch-up
painting and painting at splicing will be done.

Finally the completed pile ready for installation will be shifted and stacked separately at the
splicing yard. Each pile will be clearly and indelibly marked to show its serial number and also
location. Also, the piles will be calibrated on the outer side for convenience in measurement
while driving.
