Economy:

Next, we will talk about the role of economy in sustainable

development. There are two following aspects that we should care.

Firstly, we must be promoting inclusive and sustainable economic

growth, employment and decent work for all. Roughly half the world’s
population still lives on the equivalent of about $2 a day. And in too
many places, having a job doesn’t guarantee the ability to escape from
poverty. For instance, reveals that young people ages 15–24—who
make up 22 percent of the world’s adult population—often face great
challenges in finding employment, and even after they find work, may
find themselves disproportionately engaged in low-productivity and
low-quality jobs, with few opportunities. Sustainable economic growth
will require societies to create the conditions that allow people to have
quality jobs that stimulate the economy while not harming the
environment. There are several numbers could help us clearly know
about this problem. Global unemployment increased from 170 million
in 2007 to nearly 202 million in 2012, of which about 75 million are
young women and men. Nearly 2.2 billion people live below the US$2
poverty line and that poverty eradication is only possible through stable
and well-paid jobs. And 470 million jobs are needed globally for new
entrants to the labour market between 2016 and 2030.

Secondly, building partnership for the goals or revitalize the global

partnership is a very important factor to the sustainable development.
Since a successful sustainable development agenda requires
partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society.
Urgent action is needed to mobilize, redirect and unlock the
transformative power of trillions of dollars of private resources to
deliver on sustainable development objectives. There are some facts
and figures that shown the necessary of partnerships for goals. Official
development assistance stood at $135.2 billion in 2014, the highest
level ever recorded. 79% of imports from developing countries enter
developed countries duty-free. The debt burden on developing
countries remains stable at about 3 per cent of export revenue. The
number of Internet users in Africa almost doubled in the past four
years. 30 percent of the world’s youth are digital natives, active online
for at least five years. But more four billion people do not use the
Internet, and 90 percent of them are from the developing world.

In conclusion, economy might be not the most important part in

sustainable development but it is indispensable in the process.
Government must put more effort in order to improve the national
economy.

What are the important steps that the government have to take to
achieve the goals of sustainable development?

So there are many things that the government could do to achieve the
goals of sustainable development. We divide them into two parts. First
one is the responsibility of the National Council. It means enhancing
competitiveness and sustainable development. Part two is
responsibilities of ministries, branches, localities and concerned
agencies and organizations. All governments make national
implementation plans. They should ensure the full participation of
citizens and civil society in the delivery of these goals, and ensure that
participatory monitoring systems are put in place to enable citizens to
hold governments to account. Strengthening the governance of the
agricultural and industrial sectors. Developing programmes to support
small and family farming – education, policy, market protections,
economics, health and nutrition. Developing and managing rural
infrastructure, land and water access, and river basins. Establishing
subsidies for local agriculture services and inputs, specifically for local
consumption. Organizing propaganda among cadres, civil servants,
officials, enterprises and people at all levels on strategies, programs/
action plans of provinces and cities to implement the strategy.
Organizing the monitoring and evaluation of targets and targets for
sustainable development. Annualing periodic build report results of the
strategy the implementation of the sustainable development
indicators. Developing mechanisms and policies to manage, guide and
support the implementation of the strategy.
Overall, we should not underestimate the importance of sustainable
development in our world. Interst grows in the idea that environmental
protection, economic prosperity and social equity are closely linked.
This growing effort will have a major impact on not only our lives but
also on our professional activities as we quickly approach the 21st
century.
