EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

 Project Brief
As a part of the NHDP Phase IV program for providing NH connectivity to centers of
economic importance, URS Scott Wilson India Private Limited have been appointed in
the preparation of detailed project report for 4 laning of Tumakuru to Honnavara (NH-
206) from km 166+100 to 216+500
The main objective of the consultancy service is to establish the technical, economical,
and financial viability of the project and prepare detailed project reports for widening
of existing 2 lane road to 4 lane configurations. The project road is divided into two
sections
 Section I: From 12+310 to 216+500 - 4 Lane Configuration.
 Section II: From 216+500 to 370+000 - 2 Lane Configuration.
Section I: From 12+310 to 216+500
The project highway is divided in Five packages, details are as given below:
 Package-I: From Km 12+310 to Km 66+540
 Package-II: From Km 66+540 to Km 119+790
 Package-III: From Km 119+790 to Km 166+100
 Package-IV: From Km 166+100 to 216+500
 Package-V: 42 Km Standalone Tumkur Bypass.

 Package-IV: Km 166+100 to Km 216+500.

The proposed alignment starts on NH-206 at existing Km.166+100 (Design


Km.170+415) Bettadahalli and ends at existing Km 216+500 (Design Km 226+750)
Shivamogga (End of Shivamogga Bypass).
 Main Carriageway
Main carriage way consists of 4-Lane divided carriage way with 1.5/2m paved
shoulder.

Status of Pre-Construction Activities

 Environmental clearance approval form MoEF is not required as per clause 7(f) of EIA
Notification 2006 and subsequent amendment issued from MoEF.

 Clearance under wild life (protection) Act 1972 is required.

 Forest land diversion as per Forest Conservation Act 1980 is required, as the proposed
alignment pass through Reserved or Protected Forest. Preparation of Forest land proposal is
in progress and will be submitted shortly.
