1-1-5. Rack Mount

DFS-900M is used in a 19-inch standard rack. Mount the DFS-900M onto the rack properly using the specified rack mount
kit according to the following procedure.

Specified rack mount kit: RMM-10

n
An unspecified rack mount kit may not be able to mount the unit onto the 19-inch standard rack.

RMM-10 components
. Rack bracket 2 pieces
. Rack mount adapter (right) 1 piece
. Rack mount adapter (left) 1 piece
. Rack bracket fixing screw (B4 x 6: 7-682-560-09) 6 pieces
. Adapter fixing screw (B4 x 10: 7-682-560-10) 6 pieces

1. Notes on mounting DFS-900M on the rack mount

w
. Anchor the rack to a level rigid floor with bolts or the like so that the rack will not move or fall down.
If the rack falls down with its weight, it may result in death or serious injury.
. Be sure to use the specified rack mount kit to mount the unit onto the rack.
Using an unspecified rack mount kit may cause the unit to fall due to insufficient strength, which may result in injury.
. After the rack mounting is completed, be sure to tighten the rack angle screws to secure the unit to the rack.
Failure to tighten the rack angle screws may cause the unit to slip and fall from the rack, which may result in injury.

DFS-900M 1-17 (E)

c
Observe the following when mounting the unit onto the rack.
. Do not hold the front panel.
. Mount the unit by two or more persons.
. Be careful so that your fingers or hand are not caught by the rack mount rail.
. Perform rack mount work in a stable posture.

n
To mount two ore more units onto a rack, it is recommended that a ventilation fan be installed to the rack to prevent tem-
perature rise in the rack.

2. Rack mounting procedure

The following describes the rack mounting procedure using the rack mount kit RMM-10.

expansion board, option board signals of the DME and the Multi Viewer, PVW, CLN, KEY, DSK, and still picture signals
generated on this board) to the onboard FPGAs and other boards.
IC3 (FPGA (KEYER)) exchanges DME-processed signals between IC5 (FPGA (DME)) that performs key signals (includ-
ing EXT, SELF, and CHROMA KEY) processing and the preinstalled DME processing and the optional DME board.
IC4 (FPGA (Combiner)) perform image signal processing (such as edge, shadow, and DSK) at the final stage. Furthermore,

and the optional I/O expansion board.
As the external device interface function, this board controls the editing control unit and the AUX bus remote controller
through CN12, CN13, CN14, and CN15 (EDITOR connectors and REMOTE connectors) using RS-422A serial communi-
cation. Furthermore, this board is provided with a parallel interface between 16-channel GPI IN (D-sub 25-pin connector
