The past eight years have been a lot of fun, life changing in many ways and something I will

remember
for the rest of my life. We’ve accomplished a lot as a Legislature for our great State. I couldn’t be
prouder of my accomplishments and contributions to this state and my community. So today I
announce that I will not be running for re-election to the North Dakota House of Representatives for
District 3.

I absolutely love being a Representative for my state and community, it’s been one of the greatest
honors of my life. After months of agonizing and debating I’ve decided I’m spread too thin and just not
willing to give up my time any more. My children are 4, 9 and 13, they need me more than I need the
Legislature. Raising these wonderful souls is the single most important duty I have and I want to do it
without distraction.

I will most likely regret this decision, but the regret I have by not being home for ALL of my children’s
memories far outweighs any of that regret. I couldn’t be prouder of my service and what I’ve
accomplished for the Great State of North Dakota and my community. Some will certainly celebrate this
decision and that’s fine because politics is a rough and tumbled business, I’ve never cared what the
haters think and never will.

Conservative Republican policies have made North Dakota the best place in the world to live and do
business. North Dakota must continue elect people who represent pro-family, pro-business, pro-liberty,
pro-2nd Amendment, pro-state’s rights, pro-constitution, pro-rule-of-law, and pro-American
Conservative policies. I have all the confidence in the world my colleagues will continue to make North
Dakotans proud.

I will very much miss my many friends and colleagues, frankly they’re the only reason this decision has
been so tough for me to make. It’s a people and relationship business and we’ve got some of the best,
brightest, and most capable people in North Dakota serving in the Legislature. I look forward to working
with them on issues of importance to me, the state, and my community. The friendships garnered from
my experience are lifelong and has been the best part of this whole experience.

I will likely continue to be active in politics and public policy, maybe locally, but one doesn’t need a fancy
title to make an impact. I very much look forward to focusing all my energy and passion on my family,
career and business activities.

I’ve been extremely blessed. I’d like to sincerely thank my colleagues in the House and Senate, the past
and present Governors and Lt. Governors, state employees, Legislative Council (best on the planet),
many great lobbyist friends, my appropriations committee members, my constituents, Rep. Maragos
(Sherry), Sen. Larsen (Liz), Minot Legislative delegation, City of Minot, City of Surrey, The Mafia (best
friends on the planet), and most importantly Kristi, Kiera, Ellie, Jace, my parents, brothers, sister,
Grandma and my entire extended family.

Rep. Roscoe Streyle
