Black and White Set --- Pages 4-28
• With this set students can color the pictures and trace the words.
• Copies of these puzzles can be used at a center for students.
• Students can also take the puzzle pieces home to practice for homework.
• Students can glue the puzzle pieces to a blank sheet of paper or keep the pieces in a bag and recreate the
puzzles.
• Students can use the puzzle pieces as flashcards and read the words several times before they create the
puzzles.
Color Set --- Pages 29-53
• Print on cardstock for durability
• These are great for a center! Your students can work in teams to put the puzzles together.
• Have students mix three or more puzzles together. Then, they can sort the pieces into the different word
families and finally recreate the puzzles.
• For those students who need assistance creating the puzzles, place a color copy of the puzzle in a plastic
sleeve. Students can then build their own puzzle on top of the color copy and match up the pieces.
