guide words.

the last word on the page? (It is written on the top of the page.) These words are called
guide words.

3. Where is the first guide word found? (At the left)
4. Where is the second guide word found? (At the right)
5. How are the words between the guide words arranged? (alphabetically)
6. Are all the words listed on the page belong to the guide words? (Yes)
7. What information do the guide words give? (Guide words give the location of words in the
dictionary.)

1. What are guide words? (Guide words are words at the top of the page of a dictionary
indicating the alphabetically first and last words on the page.)
