B. Using Relative Pronouns

Combine the following sentences, changing one sentence of each pair to a


subordinate clause. Introduce each subordinate clause with a relative
pronoun.

PREPOSITIONS

A preposition is a word that shows a relationship between a noun (or


pronoun).Prepositions may be divided into prepositions of place and
direction, prepositions of time, and prepositions of position and
movement.

Some common prepositions include: at, on, in, along, round, past,
through, by, before, after, since, for, during, until, from, to, in /into/ out
of, off / on / onto etc.

Prepositions are usually attached with the noun or pronoun. The object of
a preposition is the noun or pronoun that follows the preposition.

A prepositional phrase is a group of words that begins with a


preposition and ends with the object of the preposition.

I. Underline the preposition in each sentence.
