Newspaper Series- You will create a series of newspapers with headlines that are
important plot points within the novel. You will need to include at least 3 newspapers in the
series. As a regular newspaper runs, there are headline stories, and there are smaller
stories. In the smaller stories sections, you will include the historical allegorical reference
for the headlines. You are free to include other components, such as “Advice” columns,
“Readers Opinions” columns, “For Sale” Columns, and “Entertainment Columns”. For
inspiration, consult a real newspaper – no matter how hard it might be to get your hands on
one! You can use the template provided on Schoology.
Mini-Manifesto- You can create your own mini-manifesto based on the ideals of Animal
Farm, but you will apply it to society today. You should choose problems within society that
you think need to be changed. You will then create a speech similar to Old Major’s, calling
your peers to action. You will need to include at least one visual, whether that be election
buttons, pamphlets, flyers, etc. You will need to include a handout of some sort for everyone
in the class. *Your visual may NOT be a power point, but can be a campaign video.* (If you
e-mail me the document, I can make copies for you!) You will then deliver your speech to
the class in an attempt to get them to join your rebellion!
Fable- You will create a children’s book in the form of a fable, using the characters and main
plot points from Animal Farm. Your children’s book needs to be at least 6 pages in length,
should be neat, needs to be illustrated and colored, and must teach and obvious lesson. You
must include at least 5 main points from Animal Farm.
Irony Memes- You will create a meme-book that addresses the ironies within Animal Farm.
You will need to include 8 memes, as well as 8 references to Animal Farm and the ironies
that occur. Your meme should be relevant to Animal Farm and the irony you are discussing.
Your pictures should be school appropriate, as well as the verbage used on your memes.
You will then need to explain the ironic situation in Animal Farm, citing the page number.
