January 2018
:Stephens’ Corner:
At our January staff meeting of the Rankin Baptist Association, we had great reports from all
of our team. It is amazing how God is blessing our various ministries. Crossroads Counseling
is preparing to open an office in Hattiesburg, and through a generous gift, has been able to pur-
chase a church building in Jackson to be used as part of a ministry to persons coming out of
addictions. Hands Up Outreach is moving to its new Pelahatchie office. 3:16 Ministry saw 18
prisoners profess faith at a luncheon that they gave at CMCF in December. These are just a
few of the things that were shared. Needless to say, these are great days to be serving our
Lord!
February presents great opportunities to show our love to others. Of course, there is Valen-
tine’s Day, but there is also the promoted Race Relations Day in our Southern Baptist Churches.
Many churches extend a hand of Christian fellowship to our brothers and sisters of other rac-
es on that day or sometime during that week. This past weekend I had the privilege to attend
the Answers in Genesis Conference at Park Place Baptist. One of
the points made by the speaker is that since we all are descend-
ants of Adam and Eve, there is really only one Race and that is
the Human Race. That is something that is well worthy of our
consideration. As Jesus did, we should look at the population of
Rankin County and be moved with compassion regardless of
their ethnicity, financial status, or social strata.

30 kids at K-Motion at Antioch
Baptist Church! It was a great
night as they had over 65 at
church. What a wonderful
program for students to learn
about the Gospel!
The State Evangelism Conference took place on January 29-30 at Brandon Baptist
Church this year. There was a great turnout for the event. Pictured below are speakers:

As of January 1st, Belinda Moseley has taken the position of Program Director of a new site for Hands Up
Outreach in Pelahatchie. She has worked with Hands Up Outreach for 8 years!
“We are so blessed and thankful for Pelahatchie Baptist Church to let us use this house. The Lord opened up
this area for us in September partnering with Ever Reaching Community Outreach (ERCO) to have GED Prep
classes. We begin with 5 students with 3 graduating with their GED in December. The other 2 students will
be completing the GED in the next few months. We will be offering Celebrate Recovery, Financial Manage-
ment classes, Job Readiness classes plus Bible Study in the coming months. We need volunteers, tutors and
mentors for our students. If you know of anyone interested in preparing for their GED those classes are open
now on Thursdays from 9-1.” - Belinda Moseley
