Competency Name of Artifact Explanation

(suggested length of 2–4 sentences)
Using and Lesson Plan one from Course The lesson plan below was created and taught as a part of my
promoting academic C540 DTT Task 3 Teacher Work Sample for Western Governors University. The lesson
language in the plan below shows evidence that I am competent and able to promote
classroom academic language in the classroom. This was done by having math
students work together with their shoulder partner to solve the math
story problems. In doing this, they were able to, and were forced to
use their academic language to communicate with one another and
solve the story problems by working together. It was important for
students to know and understand the math addition terms in order to
be successful.
Differentiating Lesson Plan three from This lesson plan was created and taught as a part of my Teacher
instruction to meet Course C540 DTT Task 3 Work Sample for Western Governors University. The lesson plan
the needs of below shows evidence that I am competent and able to effectively
students in the differentiate for my students as you will see throughout the lesson
classroom and specifically in the "Differentiation" portion of the lesson plan. I
provide different accommodations for a specific student while also
providing needed wait time for all students.
Incorporating Lessons taught for Teacher Artifact 3: I created this instructional presentation project for a 5th
technology into Work Sample grade whole group lesson with IEP/inclusion students. I used
your instruction to Course C540 a technology program called "Prezi". I believe this artifact provides
enhance student evidence of effective pedagogy and technology usage because it uses
learning technology to support 5th grade students and IEP students learning
about weathering, erosion, and reshaping earth's surface.
For example, I would use this presentation to show students the
differences between mechanical and physical changes through visual
images, a video which explains these reactions, and a vocabulary list.
I believe this artifact is strong evidence of Effective Pedagogy
because, it demonstrates my ability to use technology tools in my
instruction that supports and extends student learning.

Artifact 3.1: I created a Language Arts multimedia project for another

whole group lesson with inclusion students.
This artifact provides evidence of effective pedagogy and technology
(DM2) because it uses technology to support 4th grade students and
resource/IEP students applying their word knowledge, sentence
structure, and creating a presentation using technology. I used this
assignment/presentation to have students get to know one another
better, and use their Language Art skills in creating a presentation. I
believe this artifact is strong evidence of Effective Pedagogy because,
it demonstrates my ability to use technology tools in my instruction
that supports IEP students and extends student learning.
Applying engaging JOT2 Task 2 I created this presentation for JOT2 Task 2 at WGU. In this
and effective presentation I discuss the pros and cons of instructional
instructional designs/strategies, and theorist which greatly impact my
strategies teaching and instructional strategies in the classroom.
Observed Lesson in Design theories allow the teacher and student to improve
Elementary Setting-Teacher knowledge comprehension and give both the ability to find what
Work Sample methods work.
Course C540
I also attached an observation of a lesson given that shows
engagement data. As you can see the instructional strategies
used in the lesson provided high engagement.
