10 Minute Tests are designed to provide bite-sized practice of all key question types.
Written by an experienced non-verbal reasoning teacher, the tests cover seven different
question types – ideal for building on early foundations of the subject.
How to use this book

Each test is designed to take around 10 minutes and can therefore be used for:
a short introduction to the skills that underpin non-verbal reasoning
a quick assessment of early logical abilities
bite-sized practice that will ﬁt easily into busy lifestyles
regular top-up sessions that will help develop a sound base in reasoning.
The unique structure of Bond Non-verbal Reasoning 10 Minute Tests 8–9 years offers a
combination of 9 topic-based tests and 9 mixed tests that will help children to develop the
following basic logic and reasoning skills:
VË xËa~] VË W¬jÍ~] VË ÄÜ~]
– the odd one out – a visual sequence – coded shapes
– reﬂections – a shape
– hidden shapes – a visual analogy
To ensure children are not daunted by non-verbal reasoning at this early stage, the
questions include a mixture of pictures and abstract shapes (pictures are phased out after
this level). Tests can be worked through in sequence or ‘dipped into’ for focused practice of
particular skills.
Features
VË 0Ëj¬ËÍÜ?ÍjËWaÁj^Ë?Ëpuzzles section (containing 5 puzzles) has been included
towards the back of the book. Each puzzle is designed to help build a
range of reasoning skills, while introducing an element of fun into practice sessions.
VË Scores can be recorded at the end of each test and in the progress grid at the
back of the book.
VË Answers are located in a central pull-out section that can be removed easily.
