stories from 4 countries,
Yemanja - The sea goddess from Brazil,
Kumari - The living goddess from Nepal,

Durga - The warrior goddess from India

Yakshagana:

section will see Devika Rao
taking the centre stage to pay
obeisance to Sun, the
primordial energy source. Crisp
jaatis juxtaposed with

vibrant moods of this eternal
star. Concept and

About the Director:
Devika Rao
• British Citizen of Indian origin.
• By profession a classical Indian Dance &
Theatre Artist,
• Have performed more than 1200 times
in the last 2 decades, a lead performer
as part of the cultural Olympic 2012
project (MANDALA) and also
• Performed for Queen’s Baton Relay
2009 (INITIUM). Teaching
Bharatanatyam to a number of students
ages ranging from 4yrs to 26yrs.
• Performed solo and group pieces
including Sri Vignesh and Siva Archana

a range of mid- scale theatre
repertoire that can be
programmed within a mixed-bill 3, Yarn Street, Leeds, United Kingdom, LS101GJ
of our own work or with other
artists, as well as site-specific
work.
