important in today’s media-dominated world,
and sharing workers’ knowledge throughout a
company is crucial to its success. Key to this is
web 3.0, whose rapidly increasing interactivity
offers almost limitless opportunities for
cooperation and knowledge sharing in
companies and organisations. Do you want to
be a part of this and help companies take
advantage of this revolution in ways of working
and communicating? Would you like to learn
how to advise businesses on how to implement
social media to optimise communication and
business processes? If so, then Web 3.0 &
Knowledge Sharing is the minor for you.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND BUSINESS
COMMUNICATION
What are the benefits of using social media? Its
risks and drawbacks? Should you use Yammer,
Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook or a wiki? And how
do you make sure that people still meet each
other to share essential knowledge? This minor
will provide the answers. Knowledge
management is seen as an essential system for
enhancing companies’ creativity and success in
the near future. After successfully completing
this minor, you will be able to advise companies
on how they can implement Web 2.0/3.0
technologies and knowledge and innovation
management, giving them a competitive edge
on their competitors. And because this minor is
in English and has lessons on business English,
and because international students take part,
your English will improve.
CURRICULUM
In this minor, you will:
– work on a business case for the marketing
department of top business consultancy firms
PwC (www.pwc.com). In the first period you
will focus on innovation, Enterprise 2.0 and
how to use social media internally (B2E). In
the second period you will focus on advising
PwC consultants on how to strengthen their
relationship with their clients using Web
2.0/3.0 technology (B2B).
– learn about the latest trends in Web 2.0/3.0
for the internet and intranet.
– learn about the latest trends in knowledge
sharing, innovation and creativity
management and internal corporate
communication using brainstorming
methods, workshops and consulting skills.
– learn how to take advantage of a
competitors’ intelligence.
– learn about Web 2.0/3.0 and its implications
for privacy.
– improve your English language skills because
all courses are given in English.
– extend your international network by
exchanging your knowledge and experience
with international students. PwC also has an
extensive international network you can
begin to exploit.
WHO? You are creative, open to new ideas
and you have an affinity with online media,
marketing and communication.
WHEN? Semester 2
 WEB 2.0 VS. WEB 3.0
Web 2.0 is all about social media, while web
3.0 involves the Semantic Web, continuous
online access, open identity and the Social
Graph. The minor in Web 3.0 & Knowledge
Sharing explores cutting-edge developments
on the web, with a special focus on innovation
and competitive advantage through knowledge
sharing.
