Heat Hazard: Beware of heat source or hot surface that may result in personal
injury.
1-1
l Before operating the equipment, report to the person in charge faults or errors of the
equipment that may result in security issues.
l Remove personal accessories, such as rings, necklaces, and watches. These items
may catch on moving parts. Metal jewelry items are conductors that may result in an
electric shock.
l Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working.
l Pay attention to the hazard labels and caution or warning information on products.
Never cover or remove the hazard labels and caution or warning information.
l Only use the tools described in instructions.
The following preventive measures can be taken to avoid electric shock hazards.
1-2
Danger!
Improper electrical installation may result in fire, electric shocks, explosion, and other
consequences threatening human safety and property safety. Electric devices must be
installed and maintained by qualified engineers.
Danger!
Avoid direct or indirect contact with the main power supply. Failure to comply can result in
personal injuries.
Danger!
Before connecting or disconnecting a power cable, be sure to cut off the power supply.
At the moment when a power cable core contacts a conductor, electric arcs or sparks are
generated, which can result in a fire or eye injury.
Note:
Power supply equipment must be installed in compliance with the local laws and
specifications.

Context
The power cable of the equipment needs to be processed and assembled on the site. Peel
off the two-core shielded power cable and install it to the plug of the power connector, and
then assemble the connector plug and cable into the maintenance cavity on the equipment.
Figure 5-3 shows the plug on the power connector.
5-2
Steps
1. Connect the plug of the power connector.
a. Peel off and crimp the tube terminals according to the cable peel-off diagram on
the interior side of the maintenance cavity.
b. Install the tube terminals into the crimping holes on the plug, see Figure 5-4. Push
the tube terminals to the end. If the conductor is not loose when you pull it, it is
installed in position.
Note:
According to the silkscreen print on the plug of the maintenance cavity, correctly
connect the polarities of the connector and cable.
If you need to remove the conductor and reassemble it, use a screwdriver to press
the pole to make the spring inside the crimping tube open. Then, you can take out
the conductor.
5-3
2. Loosen the tightening screws, and turn the wrench to open the maintenance cavity,
see Figure 5-5.
3. Install the plug into the power socket on the maintenance cavity, see Figure 5-6. When
you hear a click sound, the plug is installed in position.
4. According to the silk-screen print on the crimping clamp at the entry of the maintenance
cavity, fix the cable, see Figure 5-7.
5. Close the maintenance cavity. Turn the wrench to press the maintenance cavity tight.
Tighten the screws with a tightening torque of 1.4 N·m, see Figure 5-8.

6. Connect the other end of power cable to the external power supply devices.
– End of Steps –
Steps
1. Loosen the tightening screws, and turn the wrench to open the maintenance cavity,
see Figure 5-9.
5-5
Note:
While installing the optical fiber, press the blue line card at the front of the optical fiber
with your hand, and face it in the same direction of the optical module, to avoid twisting
the optical fiber.
3. According to the silkscreen print on the crimping clamp at the entry of the maintenance
cavity, fix the cable, see Figure 5-11.
4. Close the maintenance cavity. Turn the wrench to press the maintenance cavity tight.

Equipment 1 The equipment installation position complies with design requirements. The
installation chassis is installed stably.
2 The equipment surface is clean with no paint peel-off. No part on the device
is loose or damaged. All labels are correct, clear, and complete.
Cable 1 Cables are routed straightly with no obvious curve or slant. Cables do not
connection hang in the air or cross each other.
3 Labels are pasted on two ends of each cable with the same contents,
marking the purpose of this cable.
4 The cable clips should be bound nicely and trimly. The space between
cable clips are even. The cable clips are bound with proper force and face
the same direction. The surplus part of cable clips should be trimmed
evenly from the ends with no sharp edge.

Item Requirement
Steps
1. Wrap an electrical insulation tape from bottom up, see Figure A-1.
After connecting the connector, wrap the connector with the insulation tape downwards
in the direction that the connector tightens, with each round covering half of the
previous round. Ensure that the part about 10 mm to the connector end is wrapped
with the insulation tape. When wrapping the connector, exert proper force.
2. Wrap the waterproof tape in three layers from bottom up, from top down, and then
from bottom up again, see Figure A-2.
a. Expand the waterproof tape, peel off the release liner, and paste one end of the
tape to 20-50 mm below the connector (with the side pasted with the tape facing
inwards).
b. Stretch the waterproof tape with even force to extend it to 75%-50% of the previous
width. Keep a proper stretching strength. Wrap the waterproof tape in overlapped
mode from bottom up along the tightening direction. The upper layer shall overlap
half of the lower layer.
c. When the tape is wrapped to 20-50 mm above the connector, wrap it from top
down to 20-50 mm below the connector in the same way, and then wrap it from
bottom up again.
A-1
d. After the waterproof tape is wrapped properly, grip the tape with force to make the
tape stick firmly to the cable and connector.
3. Wrap the insulation tape in three layers from bottom up, from top down, and then from
bottom up again, see Figure A-3.
Bind the three layers in the same way of the waterproof tape. During binding, two ends
of the insulation tape should be 20 mm longer than the waterproof tape.
4. Bind the tapes, see Figure A-4.
a. Use anti-UV cable clips to bind two ends of the tapes.
b. Use a pair of diagonal piers to cut off the unwanted tapes. Keep 3 mm left to avoid
the tapes swelling in hot weather.
