Christina M. Hartman Announces Congressional Bid for PA-10

Following the Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision that significantly altered the state’s
congressional map, Christina M. Hartman is announcing that she will run for Congress in
Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional district, challenging GOP Rep. Scott Perry in the 2018
election.

“I’m running for Congress because central Pennsylvania's economy isn't working the way it
should. Paychecks aren’t keeping up with the cost of living for too many of our friends and
neighbors, and we need a new approach that grows the economy and helps workers get better
jobs, better wages, and better skills. But Scott Perry and Republicans in Congress are adding to
the economic burdens of middle class families by raising the cost of health care and education
and increasing their tax burden,” Hartman said.

“Scott Perry’s new tax plan would add 1.5 trillion dollars to the debt, all to give huge tax cuts to
the wealthy and big corporations. And his health care plan removes protections for pre-existing
conditions while allowing insurance companies to impose an unfair age tax which would charge
people over the age of 50 premiums that are up to five times more than what younger
consumers pay. But Perry voted repeatedly to give himself and other Members of Congress
taxpayer-subsidized health care for life. It’s time for fresh energy and new ideas.”

Hartman continued, “I’ve always put the hardworking families of central Pennsylvania first—and
in that way, nothing has changed. The old PA-16 and the new PA-10 are very similar—they’re
filled with men, women, and children who deserve a stronger voice working for them in
Washington. Over the next few months, I will be working hard to earn the trust of these central
Pennsylvania voters, and to show them that with my experience, they will be in far better hands
than Scott Perry’s. I look forward to this opportunity and to winning this seat for the Democrats
so that we can flip the House in November.”

Hartman, who was raised in Lancaster County and graduated from the George Washington
University and Fordham University, took what central Pennsylvania taught her about community
and used it to influence her work all over the world, advocating for citizens and fighting for their
pursuit of freedom. With nearly 20 years of experience, she is a proven non-profit leader and
manager with a keen knowledge of national and international policy, and a focus on national
security. In 2016, Hartman ran for Congress in then-PA-16, and was credited with turning a
“safe Republican seat” into one of the most competitive seats in the nation.
