the filed of manufacturing high quality tools for drilling and workover
operations; is the major Russian developer and producer of drilling tools
as well as one of the largest and highly professional oil service companies
in the country.
Service includes all main types: bit service, core recovery, wellbore
reaming, and directional drilling with provision telemetric systems,
mud motors, drilling muds and process liquids service, window milling,
remedial cementing. Complex engineering-technological maintenance
“ready-to-operate” allows customer quickly, qualitatively, with minimum
expenses and risks constructing wells of any difficulty. Enterprise has
large production basis – today it is modern equipment, CNC machines,
and newest multi axis machining center units and effective quality control
means at each stage of manufacturing allowing producing wide range of
products meeting all customer requirements and requests.
Equipment itself, metal-cutting tools, technological software –
are unique products oftentimes having no analogues in world practice.
“BURINTEKH”, Ltd possesses unique lab equipment. Mud and cement
slurry laboratories represent scientific and research base with full cycle of
researches for creation and implementation new promising developments
in the field of process liquids, drilling muds and cement slurries.
Since 2010 activities in the field of development and production
reagents for muds were conducted at the enterprise. At the present
time enterprise has almost all range of chemical components which
allow maintaining mud properties at necessary level even while drilling in
abnormal conditions. The line of lubricating additives for different operating
conditions, anti-balling and anti-adhesion reagents, anti-foaming agents,
corrosion and clay inhibitors, fluid for core recovery, liquefying agents,
emulsifiers, modified starch, lost circulation compounds – this is short
list of “BURINTEKH”, Ltd capabilities.
Successful construction of oil and gas producing well, its trouble-free
operation is impossible without qualitative casing. This is due to the fact
that unsuccessful plugging operations can minimize the success of all the
previous stages of well construction. For safe performance in abnormal
conditions special plugging compounds are required which are developed
in the well casing laboratory established in 2011. At the present time
there are developed and successfully used expanding, light, reinforced and
magnesia plugging materials for standard and moderate temperatures.
Company developments forge ahead and new technologies are
permanently mastered. For instance from 2016 the first steps were
made in production of chemicals for well workover and completion. These
technologies were blocking compounds and fluid for filter cake chemical
removal – breaker system.
High level of diagnostic laboratory of nondestructive and destructive

control means equipment reflects the permanent aspiration of enterprise
to increase the quality of output products. At specialists’ disposal is unique
equipment and devices and test-benches for carrying-out mechanical
properties researches, materials micro and macrostructure analysis.
Besides the main manufacturing “BURINTEKH”, Ltd provides
restoration of tools. Restoration of rock destruction, milling and expanding
tools. Such components as cutting structure, flushing holes, parts of body
reinforcement and threads can be restored.
Key role in production activity has scientific component. Our Scientists
have published more than 270 scientific papers in core publications of
Russia, CIS countries and Europe. “BURINTEKH”, Ltd cooperates with
scientific centers and universities: Academy of Sciences of the Russian
Federation and Republic of Bashkortostan, Ufa State Aviation Technical
University, Institute of steel and alloys, etc. “BURINTEKH”, Ltd is the base
professorate “Well drilling” in Ufa State Petroleum Technical University.
Lot of attention is paid to research scientific work directed to quality
and performance improvement of released and newly designed products.
Our research includes the study of processes modeling of rock destruction
elements interaction with rocks. This research has been conducted on
different test-benches and using theoretical methods.
Mathematical group of Drilling Tool Design Center conducts
computational modeling of bit hydraulic system, thermodynamic processes
of drilling tools manufacturing which are based on strength estimations.
Development of matrix PDC and diamond impregnated bits
manufacturing by means of powder metallurgical technique was preceded
by big volume of research scientific works and experimental designing in the
sphere of new materials. Research works in this direction allowed develop
specific receipts of binding substances for manufacturing impregnated
tools.
The important aspect of our scientific research is studying bottomhole
assembly dynamics. We concentrate on the quality of diamond cutters
utilizing bench testing and our testing of cutters is conducted in real
drilling conditions due to specific test method.
Output products successfully competes with foreign manufacturers and
supplied to North and South America, CIS countries, Middle East, Europe
and North Africa.

circulation loss intervals, transient pressure zones, unsteady
wellbore walls. The use of this technology decreases well
construction period by means of reducing round trip operations.
BURINTEKH”, Ltd casing drilling bits have component body. PDC
cutting structure installed to steel blades that are welded to body.
Upon reaching the hole target before cementing the blades are
expanded by core by means of ball drop. Bit core is made from
easy drillable material that provide its unconstrained drilling out
using conventional PDC bit during drilling the next section.

acquisition in 2010 of factory in USA
having more than 37 years experience
of creation high performance rock
destruction tools producing API certified
tools supplied to internal and external
markets (including Russian). In 2012

in Ufa. Up-to-date equipment purchased,
and specialists with wide experience
in roller-cone bit manufacturing were

field trials for underreaming the open hole. Underreaming was made in
the interval 1740-3692m (total meterage 1952m) per one run. Average
rate of penetration was 10,5m/h. RR H underreamers are designed for

RL-295-510

RL type hole openers are designed for drilling wells with pilot bit
or enlarging previously drilled intervals. Service life of reamers
is equal to service life of PDC bits in same conditions, herewith
enlarging is carried out at high ROP. Reamer blades, equipped
with PDC cutting structure, have back reaming cutters and
reinforced gage protection.
Delivery set of reamers includes interchangeable blades easily
replaceable in rig conditions, significantly reducing repair and
maintenance costs.

Restoration

Currently “BURINTEKH”, Ltd performs restoration of produced tools.


Rock destruction, milling and expandable tools are subject to repair.

For defining the condition of tool and degree of repairing there are
conducted estimative measures. Thread connection, body, main cutting
structure and gage cutting structure are subject to evaluation. Elements
of hardfacing, junk slot area and gage part are also evaluated. On the
basis of received information the restoration works decision is made
with discrepancy list.
Restoration represents labour-intensive process having much in
common with manufacturing new tool. The device passes the same
stages of reconstruction hard metal covering, installation of cutting
structure and components.

Special attention is paid to PDC cutting structure. By means of precise


estimation specialists carefully make cutters scrapping ensuring
qualitative restoration of cutting structure.

The condition of hardfacing of steel bits
is estimated by its wear. The life time
of the bit in consequence of increase of
stability to mechanical and erosive wear
depends on the full-rate restoration of
surfacing. By means of surfaced layer the
ability to sustain abrupt change of torque
is increased.

During the restoration of milling tools


special attention is paid to application
of wear resistant hard metal granulate
because the quality of well milling
depends on it.

As far as restoration supposes additional thermal action it is conducted


in a minimum of time to avoid undesired metal structural change.

Reamer stabilizers allow reaming horizontal and high dogleg severity
wells preventing accidental sidetracking and sizing wellbore to nominal
diameter both moving down and up.

it is easier to free stuck downhole tool if not only axial impact loads
but also shock torsion torque are applied. To solve this challenge, we
developed torsional jars “SHOCK TURN”, which can affect stuck tool by
clockwise and counterclockwise and up-and-down impacts in different
combinations.

String Reciprocators

String reciprocator RKM is designed for releasing a stuck downhole tool


or equipment by up-and-down impacts with static axial load (tension)
and torque. Reciprocator helps to release stuck tool in sidetrack or

loading of rock destruction tool where unbalanced, because of friction,
movement of drill string is present, and for damping of axial vibrations
