My name is Kamal , I am civil engineer . I work as lecturer at Darb-community

College in engineering department , and as consultative engineer at social fund for
development .

Introduction of my background
I have completed my undergraduate studies in Civil engineering from “ Thamar
University ”, Thamar , Yemen , in July 2012, with a Rate of 82.9% . I was an active
somehow indulgent student among others during my undergraduate studies, very
often involved in many curricula and Non-curricular activities. In fact, I was up to the
mark and honored in the top 5’s list of 120 students in my undergraduate class .

I did my final year thesis project on “Analysis and design of buildings which placed
in the third category of seismic map ” with the group of six members in which I was
the Group Leader .

The five – years – long study and four - years work in teaching and design laid a
solid foundation in civil engineering for me . The pleasure I got from studying and
working made me decided to pursue career in civil engineering and to be specific ,
in the study of structural Engineering .

Why do I choose study in China

In view of many constructed projects in my country like roads buildings and bridges ,
which are supervised by Chinese companies , reflected a great impression with
Yemeni people , that the country like China has experience and efficiency .

And by reading the books, watching the news, analyzing and observing the people
of China, I am really impressed by the way these individuals have proved themselves
to be dedicated to their work and with true efforts they have set China as a
successful example for other third world or developed countries. The fast growing
economy, technological advancement and the global ranking education institutes of
China with high reputation makes a great aspiration to the students and
professionals for the better career perspectives. Thus such kind of positivity has
boosted my confidence further and I am highly satisfied with the decision I have
taken.

Also my family fully supports my choice for China being my preference for graduate
studies. All these reasons put together make China an ideal place for me to do my
Master's degree .

Study Plan in China

I would like to apply for the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering in China because
from my current educational job experience , past internship and my final year
project I come to know the High Rise Building engineering, this caught my attention
and created a thirst of knowledge in me to study my chosen course. My motto is to
work in an international field related to Construction Engineering . Therefore, I
would like to gain deeper theoretical and practical knowledge in starting and
managing most innovative methods . During my studies, with great hidden abilities
in myself I will try to come up with the best of everything ; to accompany the
professors in carrying out research and exploring for modern techniques in the field
of Construction Engineering .

And in addition to core courses as Construction of Buildings and Reinforced

Concrete, I have also been very interested in courses related to mechanics and
mathematics like Theoretical Mechanics, Material Mechanics, Structural Mechanics,
theory of Elasticity, and Descriptive Geometry. This is not only because they are
indispensable to civil engineering but also because they contain the kind of erudition
and cogent logic that simply fascinated me. Finally, courses in computer science, The
Design of Computer Language and Programs like ETABS , ROBOT , REVIT and CAD,
equally attracted me, for I realize that the mastery of such basic computer skills
would significantly strengthen my expertise in civil engineering design .
My plan after graduation
In fact my dream no end at Master's Degree , I hope to get PhD in construction
engineering , after that I plan to find a job as a professor in Yemen , especially I am
working in this field now and I recognize that how my country is in needed to this
major . In addition to that I aspire to transfer Chinese experiment and technique in
education to my country .

And another goal of my aspiration , I hope to establish my own construction

company , I want to change our simply actual construction , I want it to be more
modern and more rise with new technical construction , my experiment in china will
show me a lot of new materials and new techniques in this field , so I plan to
import modern materials and modern equipment from china .
