The 43rd Graduation Ceremony of the Institute of Finance Management  took place on November 
24, 2017, at the Diamond Jubilee Hall. Various institutes and stakeholders were invited, including 
insurance companies, secondary school teachers, financial institutions and others. The guest of

The Third International Conference on Natural Resources Accounting and Finance (ICNRAF) was 
held at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School from 14th ‐15th December 2017.This Inter‐
national Conference  was organized jointly by the Department of Accounting and Department of 
finance University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) and Department of Accounting and 
Finance, The Institute of Finance Management (IFM). The Conference was intended to seek de‐
bate on issues pertaining to business environment which have  the direct contribution to the de‐
velopment of  the  extractive  industries.  The  Conference Theme  was  “Enhancing  Business  Envi‐
ronment for Sustainable development of the Extractive Industry” and it was officially opened by 
the  Deputy  Vice  Chancellor  (Academic),  University  of  Dar  es  Salaam,  Prof.  Bonaventure  S.

TRAINING ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY


The Institute of Finance Management (IFM) in    col‐
laboration  with  the  University  of  Groningen,  the 
Netherlands  have  conducted  a  short  course  in     
Research Methodology for IFM junior staff based in 
main campus. The training was conducted from 22nd 
to  26th  January  2018  at  the  Institute.  A  total  of  14 
participants  attended  the  course,  where  8  partici‐
pants  are  junior  staff  at  the  Institute  and  6  partici‐
pants  are  from  outside  the  Institute.  The  training 
was  facilitated  was  Dr.  Bartjan  Pennink  from  the 
University of Groningen, Netherland.
