My name is () I live in New York City I am a single Mom of five children. My daughter

is 38 years, and my sons are 35, 34, 29, 27 years of age. I am a proud grandmother of three

granddaughters of 18 years old, two years old and my young granddaughter 2-month-old and one

grandson two years old. My children have been my inspiration in furthering my education. My

children father and I divorced in 1993 we remain in a friendly relationship and continue in

raising our children as best possible. My children’s dad passed away in 2006 due to esophagus

cancer. My children became closer to each other after their dad passed away. It was sad to me

seeing the hurt on my children, but I notice in my children how much they were hurting so I took

them for group counseling and all the anger and frustration they were experiencing was release.

Shortly my two oldest sons join the Army and from that time I decided in furthering my

education I earned my bachelor degree in business management in 2006.

I have been working in the psychiatric field since 2002 I have taken several state exams,

and currently, I work in a secure facility on Manhattan Psychiatric Hospital in Randall's island

with problematic and emotional disturbed behaviors and registers sex offenders. I enjoy working

and helping others in achieving the precise actions to profiting a healthier life, from working in

this setting has given me the strength and inspiration in pursuing my Master in Psychology and is

to my advantage since I'm already working in a psychiatric hospital can complement my school

education with my work experience.

I took several New York State exams, in 2002 Office of Mental as Direct support Aide,

since then I develop an interest in furthering my education, earned my bachelor in business

management from Briarcliff College in 2006. I continued taking the promotional exam that came

out annually to excel my career path with the State. Currently, I work at Manhattan Psychiatric

Hospital located on Ward's Island or Randalls Island in Manhattan as a Paraprofessional, the

finally desired in May 2017 that I would return to school, I choose Ashford University online the

flexibility of the courses are every six weeks. Well I'm proud of myself for furthering my

Education.
