E-mail is the absolute best way to contact us throughout the

day. There is no phone in the classroom, which makes it
difficult to receive phone calls or voicemail messages. In the
case of a schedule change (i.e. how your child is going home
after school) or an emergency, another option is to contact
Michelle Saling in the Lower School office at -01##!10#".

If you have yet to send in your childǯs art smock, P.E. shoes,
change of clothes, or swimsuit, please do so ASAP. Please also
write your childǯs name on all of his/her items.

If you have not submitted your childǯs emergency/medical

form, please do so ASAP.

Elia Hughes (Gavinǯs mother) has been gracious enough to

serve as 1Cǯs room parent. She will be addressing the group on
Parent Night about volunteer opportunities. Elia will continue
to be a great resource for questions regarding school events
and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Nightly homework will not begin until after Parent Night. We

will inform you of our expectations and guidelines at that time.
Parent Night will be very informative in terms of the
curriculum in general. Until then, sit back and relax! o

We use a system in first grade called Thursday Folders, where
your childǯs work from the week is kept at school and then is
brought home on Thursdays. In place of the nightly homework,
Thursdays are for you and your child to look at his/her work
from the week. You will learn about this system on Parent
Night, but I just wanted to let you know that if youǯre noticing
very few papers coming home this week, it is because I am
saving them at school for next weekǯs Thursday Folder.

If you have empty paper towel rolls at home, we can use them!
We will be making time capsules in class. If youǯd like to send
one (or more!) to school, we will need them by
Wednesday, September 1st.

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year with a

wonderful partnership in you! Thank you in advance for your
continued support.
