9. Introduction:
Energy is basic input of every kind of activities associated with economic growth. Now-
a-days rising industrialization, growing population and vast improvement in living standard
promotes more need of energy. India’s electricity demand increases by 4.8% of total generation
since 2010. But still India bares large deficit in energy requirement and peak power demand of
2.1% and 3.2 % respectively.[1] Almost 80 % of power generation done by conventional sources
gives adverse environmental impact.
In India, 65% of population is living in rural region and engaged in agriculture and local
activities. For productive improvement in agriculture sector needs utilization of advance
technology. For this surety of electricity is important. Big initiatives by government through
social schemes improve percentage of electrification although 3.32 % of villages are
unelectrified due to high cost in grid expansion for low electricity demand. [1] India consist
2,49,188 MW renewable energy potential which is sufficient to fulfill whole country’s power
requirement but only 9 % is used to generation. Integration of available renewable sources with
existed system is the perfect way to obtain present power demand without any risk of energy
security and environment sustainability. Only increment in generation capacities never fulfill
energy demand. It requires proper sizing of generation sources, best efficiency and stability of
power system, reliability in transmission, precise load side-demand side management. For this
precise modeling of energy system gives optimum usage of installed generation by reducing
transmission losses and economy of output power with eco-friendly way.
