Serious allegations have been raised regarding your provision of medical services, In
particular, recent claims allege that you deviated from the required best practices put
in place following the internal sexual harassment investigation conducted by ihe
Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives in 2014, At that time, you were *
provided with written confirmation of required protocols to be followed when
providixg medica] treatment in sensitive patient areas, Those requirements included:
1. Another person (resident, nurse, etc.) will be in the room;
2. The procedure will be modified to be sure there is little tno skin contact;
3. The procedure will be explained in detail with another person in the room for both *
the explanation and the procedure.
‘The MSU Police has receivied two new petient complaints whitch post-date these
directives. Both individuals allege that you performed the procegure at issue without
gloves, without another member of the medical staff in the room, and without
providing an explanation of the procedure. The MSU Police has also indicated that
you admitted during your initial interview that you have not always complied with the
2014 protocols. This is a serious breach and is rot acceptable,
‘The University hes also received information that you were ‘questioned by the
‘Meridian Township Police in 2004 regarding asimilar pationt complaint, yet you
never disclosed this complaint o the University, nor were you truthful when
questioned later about prior complaints involving the procedure at issue. This Jack of
candor is not acceptable for a practicing physician within the College or MSU
HealthTeam.Based on the information provided to me by the MSU Police, including your admission of failure to
follow established protocol, we are left with no recourse, but to coasidet immediate termination of your
‘xed term appointment. This action is being considered independestly from the other serious allegations
of sexual abuse which temain under investigation, Consistent with he Fixed-Term Appointment policy in
the Faculty Handbook, we have conferred with the Office of the Provost regarding this action. {
‘You have the right to respond to these allegations and the potential dismissal before eny action is
implemented, Should you wish to do so, you must speak with one of us personally or respond in writing
10 later than 5:00 pm on Monday, Septesnber 19th.
