Reading/Language Arts
Our learning targets for reading this week have included:
*learning about plural with –s, -es
* r controlled vowel, or; ore
*blending words.
*rhyming words
*understanding syllables
*understanding fact and opinion; learning to monitor and
clarify when we read.
*learning new vocabulary.
*being able to use verbs where we do not add s to show present tense
They talk all the time. (no –s required when the subject is more than one
*reading just right books
Our Writing learning target has focused on writing a summary! We read
a summary on last week’s story and then had to write one of our own on
this week’s story! We learned a summary is short and tells the important
events of what we have read. It should include the author’s purpose for
writing!
Math
This week in math we our
learning targets have focused on:
*counting and writing numbers to

*finding 10 more or 10 less than a
given number. We learned a
variety of strategies for doing this.
