RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

A descriptive survey method of research will be applied in this study, which will

explore the life of street children and how they survive.

Research Environment

This study will be conducted at Barangay Zone 3, Sogod, Southern Leyte

because Zone 3 is like a squatter area and mostly people lived in there are bystanders

and there have many children.

Research Respondents

The parents of the street children are the respondents. If ever the children don’t

have any parent/guardian, the other relatives or neighbor will be our respondents.

Sampling Technique

The technique that will be used in this study is simple random sampling. In this

technique, each member of the population has an equal chance to be selected as a

subject.
Research Instruments

The main instrument of this study will be a questionnaire. This questionnaire will

be used as means of gathering data needed in drawing conclusions. This will be the

source of information about the respondents. The questionnaire is all how is the life of

children living in the street, how they socialize with other children, especially on how

they survive, what they have eaten every day and others.

Data Gathering Procedure

The data for this research were collected using the survey questionnaire. The

survey was created using suitable questions modified from related research and

individual questions formed by the researcher. The survey was comprised of 15

questions, which were related to the respondents. The questionnaire will be distributed

to the parents of the children at Brgy.Zone 3, Sogod, Southern Leyte. Respondents

were be given time to respond to the questionnaires.

Data Analysis Procedure

All the information provided by the parents/guardian of street children has been

complied on the master sheet. To make the analysis easier and reliable, different data

sheet have been prepared for different category. Data information will be collected and

will be presented carefully, scored, edited and organized systematically in order to

facilitate clear-cut description, classification, tabulation and interpretation is necessary.
