“I've said it before, but I am proud to stand up again today with many of my colleagues and endorse
Delegate Aruna Miller in her bid for Congress. In her time in Annapolis, Aruna has taken on some of the
most difficult and sensitive issues we face,” said Speaker Busch. “She's built consensus and forged
commonsense, progressive solutions.”
Delegate Maggie McIntosh, chair of the Appropriations Committee, stated, “I’ve gotten to know Aruna
pretty well over the past few years and I know that there is nothing she can’t do if she puts her mind to
it. She is an enthusiastic problem solver, a dedicated public servant, and an empathetic legislator. We
hate to see her go, but she will be an excellent Congresswoman for the 6th District and I am proud to
endorse her.”
“We have a once in a generation opportunity to send an incredibly effective legislator who has a passion
for advancing progress on the values we care most about to Congress,” finished Delegate Kathleen
Dumais. “Aruna Miller, my friend and District 15 colleague, has demonstrated an unwavering
commitment to listening to her constituents and helping people solve their problems. The citizens of the
6th District would be lucky to have a Congresswoman of Aruna’s talent, commitment, and innovation
representing them in Washington.”
Aruna Miller began her career as civil engineer, working for 25 years for Montgomery County. In 2010,
she was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates where she represents the 15th District and serves
on the Appropriations Committee. Delegate Miller lives in the 6th Congressional District with her
husband, David, and their two dogs Lucy and Scout. Aruna and David also have three adult daughters
Meena, Chloe, and Sasha.
