What is an isotope?

Same number of protons, different numbers of neutrons

What is group 1 called? Alkali Metals
What is group 2 called? Alkali Earth Metals "<img src=""paste-

n is the positive integers if the energy levels</div>"
What is ionization energy? The amount of energy to remove an electron from an
atom
What is the principal quantum number? n, shell, the larger the integer value of
n, the higher the energy level and radius of the electron’s orbit.
What is the azimuthal quantum number? ℓ, subshells, the four subshells
corresponding to ℓ = 0, 1, 2, and 3, known as s, p, d, and f respectively.
What is the maximum number of electrons that can exist within a subshell? 4ℓ +2
What is the magnetic quantum number? mℓ, orbital, this specifies
the particular orbital within a subshell where an electron is highly likely to be
found at a given point in time, values between -ℓ and ℓ
What is chelation? The central cation can be bonded to the same ligand
multiple times
What type of system are humans? Why? Open; they can take in energy and matter
(eat), release matter into the environment (respiration, urination, defecation),
and release energy in the environment (heat transfer from the skin and mucous
membranes)
What is an isothermal system? Temperature of the system remains constant
What is an adiabatic system? No heat exchange occurs
What is an isobaric system? Pressure of system remains constant
What is an isovolumetric (isochoric) system? Volume remains constant
How do you determine the enthalpy of reverse reaction? The reverse of any
reaction has an enthalpy of the same magnitude as that of the forward reaction, but
the sign is opposite
What is STP? Standard Temperature and pressure, 0 ºC or 273 K, 1 atm.
What is 1atm equivalent to? 760 mmHg = 760 torr = 101,325 Pa = 101.325 kPa
