CELL PHONE USE AND TEXTING CAUSE LOWER LEVELS OF

CONCENTRATION AND FOCUS

Cell phones emerged and were received as a solution to immediate communication,

transcending places, distances and moments. These elements caused a constant
limitation in the communication of people, especially those dedicated to business.
However, today 20 years after the arrival of cell phones to Colombia, we realize that cell
phones are more a problem than a solution.

It would be a mistake to ensure that everything has been problems with cell phones,
however, we consider that we are the users who have misused it, and therefore, we have
completely moved away from its initial goal. Nevertheless, we could be criticized for
assuring in this essay that it did not give us instant communication or that it did not
transcend borders in what corresponds to the communications; however, we have given
a more important role in our lives to the cell phones than to communicate, we refer to the
addiction that today many people present to these phones, getting to the point of entering
with them to the bathrooms and not feel disconnected from the outside world, through
these phones and the technological tool of the internet.

This problem has transcended borders and ages, from the smallest to the most adult,
are nowadays absorbed by this telephone technology. The main problem is observed in
children, who have stopped developing their childhood in outdoor places and in many
occasions not interacting with other children, to spend much more time in front of these
telephones, which provide them with the connectivity games and other attractive tools for
them.

Thus, as we are creating and educating a society from the children to have the most
concentration on what corresponds to cell phones, than in their outside world and
especially with society, situations that will definitely impact on their educational, social
concentration and later work. Remember the hundreds of articles published on the little
social interrelation that is developing today in society, due to the addiction of cell phones.

Your Cell Phone is killing your productivity. Not everyone knows how to use the phone
while driving, but your phone distracts you way more than you realize, and it’s hurting
your productivity even if you’re diligent about avoiding the siren song of that chime or
ringtone that indicates a call or message, just hearing the notification is enough to derail
you.

Drivers are constantly reminded not to use their phones while behind the wheel, but a
new study reminds us just how dangerous it is. The National Safety Council's
annual injury and fatality report, "Injury Facts," found that the use of cellphones causes
26% of the nation's car accidents, a modest increase from the previous year.

In conclusion, it is necessary for us to know the benefits that the cell phones brings
without leaving aside the evils that can lead to a misuse of it. Remembering that cell
phones can become a bigger problem than the solution.
