INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
since slang is unusual and unique. It also classified into language variation.
even it could be said that entire people’s attention, also influences the life of
the school or campus nowadays. Almost all people, whether they are in a

speak. Sometimes, they often imitate the words from the movie without

Doing the research about slang in the movie would give a positive
contribution for the learner. We can find easily the slang words which

spoken by the actors and it can increase our vocabulary. An American
comedy film directed by Dan Mazer entitled “Dirty Grandpa” (2016) has
been choosen as data since there are many American slangs used in it.
The writer wants to analyze the function of the kinds of slang terms used in
the movie then will find the types and meaning in the script,slang word
deeply. So that way, the entertainment and knowledge through the movie
can be obtained.
1.2Problem of Study
