Universal has lined up massive National Expansion blueprint. It has decide to build assembly units in 5
locations across India; besides these support offices, Universal gears up fast, towards growth by putting up
a new plant at Shivare, on the Pune-Bangalore highway. This ultra-modern assembly shop boasts of world-
class machinery and equipments, aligned on process and system designed to cater to export-oriented
product manufacturing requirements.
To ensure that experience of super-sales stay that way for the customer, Universal has worked out an
innovative concept of “Service van with inbuilt workshop facility” to be able to visit customers on-site and
service all and any concern related to the equipment or technology at work. We have been successful in
not just stopping at sales, but extending the service by providing, Annual Maintenance Contracts arguably

First in India, CIDC approved, Full fledged Training Institute
Universal Constriction Machinery training center is being started to provide various types of of skill –
based and knowledge –based training service to the construction equipments & machinery operators and
later stage Project Manager related to the selection, operation maintenance and optimum use of equipment.
Training Center is being started in association with Construction Industry Development Council, and
organization set up by Govt. of India’s planning commission. State-of-the-art center is located at 2nd plant
of universal at Shivare. It has all the facilities like Library, Audio-Visual aids, Course Material,
Computers, Internet etc.

This section of the project emphasizes on the procedure used to accomplish the project.To
accomplish the project some data have been collected. The data collected is basically of
two type :

Primary Data
Primary data generally means those raw data or data structures that are collected “first
hand” & have not had any previous meaningful intertretation.For my winter internship
project report,I have collected such primary data through observation method & through
personal interviews with Cement,Steel,Sanitory & Paint dealers.
Research Design:
For this I have conducted structured interviews.
Sampling Method:
For the structured interview I have selected dealer as per their business convenient.
Sample Size:
The total sample size was 20.Include the dealer & sub dealer.
Sample Area:
The interview was conducted at Warje,Hinjewadi,Pirangut in Pune .
Secondary Data
Any data which have been gathered earlier for some other purposes are secondary data for
the current purpose.For my winter internship project report, I have collected such
secondary data from various internet website(Google,Yahoo,Ucmeindia.com,Universal
product browsher,Universal magazine)

Hear out of 20 respondance 6.67% are interested to take dealership & 13.33% are interested
to take liason agent. But majority of the people (80%) are not interested to take
dealership.Because of poor brand image of that location.People even don’t know why
UCM&EL exist in India.what purpose they can served for construction solution.

Hear By survey I come to know that in Pirangut Universal have 60% brand image & Hinjewadi have
30% brand image & Warje have 10% brand image.
In Warje Real estate business are booming due to Upcoming Industry.

My observation on the project
2. Many of them are aware of the product but they are not satisfied with the
product price.
6. Do not have any contact to old customers. This results in customer dissatisfaction.
8. The fastest product in company’s range is Concrete Batching plant. However, the
Marketing communication particularly Branding & Advertising does not match the perceived
need aspiration of the target market.

Advertisement :
The Ads on TV or on other media must be according to perception of customer and Universal should
make Advertisement which directly hit the target market
PRICE:
Price is the most effective elements of product. Therefore Universal has to concentrate on price to
sustain in competitive advantage.
Old Customers:
Company must give attention to old customers because they make word of mouth publicity for
product of a company. And thus could help generate sales.
Service Channels:
This is most important area to attract the customer so Universal must increase their channels and
should provide more authorized dealers.
We should be in touch with customers always by giving them calls in regular intervals so they can feel
that they are also part of the company and it definitely increases the goodwill of company.
Universal should expand their networks through providing franchise to service stations.
By this we can reduce the rush and time taken for services and customer also feels better.

As per my Suggestion Universal should go with categories ‘A’. Because they are interested to take Lision
agent or dealership. They have different kind of sources to sell the product.
That’s way I suggest to Universal go ahead with this organization.
But categories ‘B’ have capability to take dealership or Lision agent. As per my observation they also have
different sources to sell the product. Yet they are not interested to do this job.

Conclusion
I would like to conclude that,Universal is number one company in India for construction
solution.They provide construction equipment & machinery to customer who have need
for this product.Thay are exist in India for “one roof solution”in construction segment.
Therefore they are looking forward towards there goal to achieve the objective.So I think if
they continue with there objective towards goal they will definitely sustain in long run &
will get competitive advantage.
