Sunday, February 11, 2018 Sixth Sunday After Epiphany

A Peek At The Sunday Sermon

Time’s A Wasting – Let’s Live!
Ephesians 5:1-16

Knowing that we only have one life to live and knowing that each day is
unique and we will never get it back, isn’t it sad that so many people
continue living a life that has no meaning?

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” – George Eliot

God’s Word makes it clear that we can start living a life that is fulfilling!
On Sunday, we will be looking at a portion of St. Paul’s letter to the
Ephesians. It contains some good advice on how to live, regardless of
your age – because it’s never too late to make changes and enjoy those
remaining years!

Time’s a wasting …
See you on February 11th at 10:00 AM.
Sunday, February 11, 2018 is Transfiguration Sunday. The
liturgical colors are white – symbolizing the purity and holiness
of Jesus Christ. White also remind us when Christ was
transfigured on a mountain top – brilliant in heavenly glory!

Our suggested Scripture reading for February 11, 2018, from the 2018 UCC
Church Calendar:
Mark 9:2-9 (NLT)
The Transfiguration
2
Six days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high
mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was
transformed,3 and his clothes became dazzling white, far whiter than any
earthly bleach could ever make them. 4 Then Elijah and Moses appeared and
began talking with Jesus.
5
Peter exclaimed, “Rabbi, it’s wonderful for us to be here!
Let’s make three shelters as memorials — one for you,
one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 6 He said this because
he didn’t really know what else to say, for they were all
terrified.
7
Then a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the
cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son. Listen to
him.” 8 Suddenly, when they looked around, Moses and
Elijah were gone, and they saw only Jesus with them.
9
As they went back down the mountain, he told them not to tell anyone what
they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 So they kept
it to themselves, but they often asked each other what he meant by “rising
from the dead.”
