Lesson Plan in English IV - Semi-detailed LP

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to use pronouns in a sentence properly.
Target Mastery Level: 75%

II. Subject Matter


a. Topic: Demonstrative and Interrogative Pronouns
b. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of how to use pronouns
appropriately.

e. Instructional Materials: Visual aids, marking pen and chalk
III. Procedure
a. Preliminary Activities – 5 minutes
1. Setting of classroom standards

“Kindly pick up pieces of paper, and arrange your chairs.”

2. Prayer

“Ms. Maglinte, lead the opening prayer.”

3. Greetings

“Good afternoon class!”

“Please, take a seat and settle down.”

4. Checking of Attendance

“Class Beadle, check the attendance.”

“Thank you.”

b. Motivation – 5 minutes

Soliciting motive questions.


“What is a Pronoun?”

“A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.”

“Today, we’re going to discuss the Demonstrative pronoun and Interrogative pronoun.”

c. Presentation of the day’s lesson – 15 minutes

The teacher will post visual aids that contain the following:

Pronoun – a pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.

Demonstrative pronoun – a demonstrative pronoun points out a noun. The demonstrative


pronouns are that, these, this, and those.

 That is a good idea.

 These are hilarious cartoons.

 This is my sister.

 Those are terrible jokes.

Interrogative pronoun – an interrogative pronoun is used in a question. It helps to ask


about something. The interrogative pronouns are what, which, who, whom, and
compound words ending in “ever,” such us whatever, whichever, whoever, and
whomever.

 What is your favorite color?

 Whose is this?

 Whom were you speaking last night?

 Which one do you prefer?

d. Application – 15 minutes

Form four groups

Each group will randomly choose one paper from a box and do the task as instructed.

Choices of tasks:

 Look for demonstrative pronouns, then perform a rap.


 Look for interrogative pronouns, then present a dialogue.
 Look for demonstrative pronouns, then make a five-line poem.
 Look for interrogative pronouns, then make a five-line poem.
