Outreach, Outreach, Outreach!
If there was a theme word for the last year of our lives and
ministry, and for the months ahead, “outreach” would be it! In
September we sent our Discipleship Training School (DTS) out to
SE Asia, to minister to YWAM Turner Valley’s target people
group. A couple weeks after they left, Michael and I (Helen)
headed for SE Asia, where we spent two weeks teaching on a
School of Biblical Studies (SBS). Michael taught Micah, and I
taught Hosea. After our time in this location, Michael returned
to Canada, and I continued on to meet up with our DTS team for
a “pastoral visit,” in a different country. After a week spent with
the DTS staff and students, I waited for the rest of YWAM TV’s
Leadership Team (LT) to arrive. The “LT Outreach” has been a
dream in the works for a number of years, and we finally made it
a reality, scouting out new opportunities with our target people
group in their home country. The country is becoming
increasingly open, and our time of meeting with pastors and
different contacts was really fruitful, and will hopefully mean
YWAM TV’s outreach teams can spend maximum time investing
in ministry in this location. I returned to Canada in mid-
November; our DTS returned a week later, and we graduated our
DTS students at the beginning of December.
Once DTS was wrapped up for the academic year, we turned our
attention to Titus Project 2018! We pioneered this Bible-teaching
outreach program last year in Turner Valley. Like last year, we
have three participants, eager to go to the nations. We will take
two of those participants to SE Asia in less than two weeks; our
other participant will head to Honduras with one of our other
Titus staff members.
