Executive Summary:
This how-to-guide is to illustrate the detailed steps to load Attributes and
Texts from Flat Files to BW InfoObjects and from InfoObjects to BPC 10.0 NW
Dimensions. We will use the front end web user interface, SAP GUI and the
Data Manager in EPM Office Add-in for Excel.
Part II: Load BW Data (from Part I) into BPC via Data Manger
Package
Assumptions: We assume the user is familiar with user interface of BPC and BW. All
required Dimensions and Model is in place.
Business Scenario:
We often deal with data from multiple sources. Most common source of data we
process is from ASCII flat files. The files could be delimited by COMMA, TAB etc…
In our case we will be working with COMMA separated file. We will be working with
Accounting data for this exercise.
PART I:
RSA1 Workbench
Modeling Tab [left pane]

Fields Tab – Change as needed and Save & Activate the Object

Create Transformation:
Make sure all Accounts from DataSource are mapped to proper G/L Accounts
Create InfoPackage:
Make sure Start Data Load Immediately is selected in Schedule Tab & click Start
Display Data:
Extraction Tab
Save the Transformation and Activate, you may see the following screen, click
Check:
Now the data is loaded to PSA. We need DTP to move the data to
0G/L Account (Text) InfoObject.
Create DTP for TEXTS to move data from PSA to InfoObject Cont.…:

Select BW InfoObject, access this screen by clicking the button with ellipses above (b)
Note: if your Model is created from Blank Model, you need to add the
necessary packages via Package Link from the Data Manager Ribbon menu.
Status Details:
Go back to EPM Add-in for Excel from Home Screen of BPC and connect to the
Model we just loaded the data for and Pick Other Members from Account DIM,
as shown the data is available in EPM Ad-in Excel:
