REBEKAH LAURYN STEPHANIE

Rebekah decided to go to the
auditions for American Idol, held at
the Meadowlands. There were
about 10,000 contestants, only 200
made it through and we went on to
round two in NYC, where she was
told her voice was “too
overdeveloped for a 16 year old” .
OK? Seems like they were looking
for people who don’t start out so
highly developed or there is
nowhere to go. It was a great
experience and we know God has a
plan for her and her gift... we will
wait and see!
Lauryn has recently become engaged
to her long time boyfriend, Pete. Pete
called us in the old fashioned way,
and asked for Lauryn’s hand in
marriage, and for our blessing.
Pete is a good man and certainly
seems to be good for Lauryn.
Interestingly, Pete’s dad was a young
teacher in my 8th grade year, so I
readily remembered him.
They will be getting married
September 16th, 2011 and I will be
performing the ceremony.
Wow! Steph is busy! She cares for
four elderly women... including our
dear Aunt Helen who is nearing 96.
She has a long background in
geriatric care that makes her well
suited for this type of work.
She loves her family, and, you guessed
it, her dog Elvis, a Yorkie that was
given to us by a good friend. Steph
and Rebekah are gearing up for
Beck’s senior year as well as adjusting
to the reality that Rebekah will have
her drivers license in October!
