SECTION - A
Answer any EIGHT questions (8×5=40)

1. Define Statistics. Mention the scope and limitation of Statistics.

2. What are the different types of graphical representations?

3. What are the advantages of graphic and diagrammed representation of statistical data?

4. Write short notes on Bar diagram.

5. Point out the relative merits of mean and median.

6. Discuss various measures of dispersion. Explain any two with illustration.

7. What is coefficient of correlation? State its properties.

8. Explain the multiple and partial correlations with an example.

9. Distinguish between correlation and regression. What are the uses?

10. Explain the one-way ANOVA.

b) The mean and S.D. of a set of 100 observations were worked out as 40 and 5
respectively. But by mistake a value 50 was taken in place of 40 for one
observation. Recalculate the correct mean and S.D.
