TWO KINDS OF PRAYER

A shipwreck happened during a storm in the sea, and only two

survivors able to swim to the shore of a very small island. The two
men not knowing what to do, agreed that they could have no
other recourse but to pray god. However, to know whose prayer
was more powerful, they divided the small island for both of
them, one staying opposite to the other.
The First Thing That They Agreed Was To Pray For Was Food. The Next
Morning, The First Man Saw A Fruit-Bearing Tree On His Side Of The Island
And He Was Able To Eat Its Fruit. The Other Man Had Nothing On His Side.
After a week, the first man prayed for a wife, since he was
lonely. The next day, another ship, was wrecked, and the only
survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the island. The
woman became his wife. On the other side, the second man still
had nothing.

SOON, THE FIRST MAN PRAYED FOR CHILDREN, A HOUSE AND

CLOTHES. THE NEXT DAY, ALL OF THESE WERE GIVEN. ON

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ISLAND THE SECOND MAN STILL HAD

NOTHING.

finally, the first man prayed for a ship so that he and

his family can leave the island. in the morning of the
next day, a ship was found anchored near the shore.
tHE FIRST MAN DECIDED TO LEAVE THE SECOND MAN ON THE ISLAND,
SINCE NONE OF HIS PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED AND CONSIDERED HIM
UNWORTHY OF ANY BLESSINGS.
When he was about to board a ship and
leave the second man behind, a voice
from heaven spoke, “why will you
leave you companion?”
“my blessings are mine alone since I was the one
who prayed for them”, the first man answered.
Since none of his prayers were answered, he is
undeserving of any blessings.”
“you are mistaken! the voice rebuked the first man. “he had only
one prayer which i answered. if not far that, you would not have
received any blessings.”
“tell me”, the first man replied, “what did the other man pray for that I should owe him anything?” “he
prayed that all would prayers be granted.”
