How to Use

* To use this software with your PX5D, you will need a computer with a
USB cable. It's necessary to install KORG USB-MIDI Driver (V1.11r1.5
or later) in your computer.

1. Connect the PX5D to a USB terminal of your PC with the USB cable.
Then turn on your PX5D.

2. Launch the PX5D SongUpdater.

3. Select "PANDORA PX5D 1 Ctrl In" from the MIDI In Device List Box, and
choose "PANDORA PX5D 1 Ctrl Out" from the MIDI Out Device List Box.
If you can't find these MIDI In/Out devices in the List Box, there is a
possibility that the USB cable is not connected correctly or the KORG
USB-MIDI driver is not installed correctly.

4. Press the "Open SMF" button, then you will get the file open dialog.
Select a song file that you want to transmit and then click "open".
The file will be loaded and will be converted for transmission. If you
see a "Ready" message on the "Status" area, you are ready for transmission.

NOTE: If you get an error message, please refer to the error message list below.

5. Select a target song number from the "Update to" List Box. Then press
the "Update" button on the right side of the List Box and the transmission
will start. A "Transmit..." message will be displayed on the "Status" area.

NOTE: Target SONG(s) will be overwritten.

NOTE: DO NOT disconnect the USB cable while using the SongUpdater as it may
affect or damage your PX5D system operation.

6. When the "Completed!" message is displayed on the "Status" area, transmission

is finished. Please make sure that the SONG(s) are updated correctly by pressing
the "RHYTHM" button on the PX5D.

---------------------------------
Guide and Tips, Limitations
---------------------------------
Data files to be used with the PX5D SongUpdater need to follow the
following conditions:

01. The source file must be saved in the SMF(Standard MIDI File) Format 0.
02. The source file size must be under 16KByte(approx). You can check this
in the "Property" menu on your PC.
03. TPQN(Ticks Per Quarter Note) must be set from 48 to 480.
04. MIDI Channels are fixed. You have to set the MIDI Ch.09 to the Bass,
and Ch.10 to the Drums.
05. Maximum Voice Limitation : Bass = 1, Drum = 6.
06. Bass Note Range is from A-1(21) to E3(64). If you use the "Transpose"
function of the SONG parameter, you will be mindful of this Bass Note Range.

TIPS: We recommend you connect the PX5D and use the "MIDDRUM" function
(in the UTILITY mode) to check the actual sound when you make an SMF data.

*Please refer to the MIDI Implementation Chart(PX5D_MIDIChart_EFGJ1.pdf) and
