INTRODUCTION
Synaxis Group has a thorough knowledge and expertise of
broad areas of ready-mix concretes, ready mix concretes
(GRC) and composite pipe casing, acquired over several
years of research, discoveries and involvement in countless
construction projects for buildings, civil engineering
structures, and other infrastructural facilities.
for long-term development, backed by its management, have made the company the
wth
and expansion programs enabled it to achieve a sustainable growth with strong cash flow
and operational performances.
The company has almost doubled its production capacity between 2006 and 2009 with
a strong focus on the infrastructure development projects. We have also aggressively
pursued the policy of vertical integration into glass reinforced concretes (GRC) and
composite pipe casing in the year 2010.
Page 5
At initial stages, the company was focusing on Abu Dhabi in manufacturing and supply
of concrete products (ready mix products). Starting with only 2 batching stations, 20
transit mixtures and 4 concrete pumps, the company harnessed great growth pattern.
Synaxis now has 3 production sites, 6 batching stations, 100+ transit mixtures, 18
concrete pumps. Synaxis also have fully equipped laboratories for quality testing and
compliance verifications. We are supported immensely with our 320 staffs (employees)
working in production, operation, distribution, management, quality control, accounts and
finance and administration functions.
As a multi-centered business scope, along with the standard concrete materials, we are
also equipped to manufacture additional specialized concrete materials such as
architectural concretes, green concretes, high temperature concretes, quick settling
concretes etc. In the GRC department, the company manufactures a large variety of
products according to the project requirements. Our GRC products are carefully
designed, crafted and produced according to your taste and aesthetic requirements. Not
only that it is visibly pleasing, it also provides superior quality when it comes to durability,
resistance, translucence, lightness etc. Our GRC gives the architects a unique and
unrivalled opportunity to express individual interpretation and creativity in a way not
offered by any other material,
Composite pipe products are newest kid in our list products. We understand the regional
demand for the quality products in the kind. Therefore, our ambition is to replicate the
same standard of quality and client services of our other products to composite piping
solutions.

developments, Whatever the size and scope of the development Synaxis have the
experience, quality and capacity to support your needs.
Durable concretes
With our 12 years of experience of designing concretes for the harsh climatic conditions
experienced in the UAE, our concretes are designed to last a lifetime without
compromising quality and durability. Our Concretes can resist the harshest
environmental conditions, extending the lifespan of structures.
Designed to enhance early strength development, our rapid settling concretes allow
fast formwork removal, accelerated construction sequencing, and rapid repair for
such jobs as roads and airport runways. Typically used in low temperature (5-10°C)
concreting during winter, this concrete can also be used in buildings, railways, and
precast applications. In addition to saving time, this concrete technology offers
improved durability and acid resistance.
Lightweight concretes
Self-compacting concretes
Self-compacting concretes from Synaxis has very high flow; therefore, it is self-
leveling, eliminating the need for vibration. Due to the superplasticizers used
chemical admixtures that impart very high flow SCC exhibits very high compaction as
a result of its low air content. Consequently, SCC can have very high strengths,
exceeding 50 MPa.
Stamped concretes
We also constantly work to develop innovative solutions that advance the sustainability of
structures made with concrete. In this way, our customers can design sustainable
buildings that can take advantage of the benefits of concrete in a wide range of
applications.
Page 22
Synaxis highly demand quality from both our suppliers and ourselves in order to ensure
that we provide the best products and service in the marketplace. To achieve this, we
have established and operate a Quality Management System that meets the requirements
of BS EN ISO 9001, BS OHSAS 18001 and BS EN ISO 14001 product conformity
regulations and standards. In addition, locally we meet the requirements of Central
Laboratory for product conformity in concrete production and delivery facilities.
Each of our locations, is under the supervision of experienced quality control managers
who lead a complete team for testing and verifying concrete quality.
Our structure allows for 24-hour supervision, in case immediate actions are necessary.
Efficient quality control is further promoted through well-established communication
channels between the quality control department and raw materials suppliers.
All Synaxis batching plants are fully automated and controlled by the automated system.
The system automatically controls the exact batching requirements of each mix design to
ensure consistency and accuracy of constituent parts.

comprehensive line of materials, the most popular being GRC (Glass Reinforced
Concrete). We have had the pleasure of working on some of the finest and most
beautiful building projects. We are renowned for our ability to take any concept or idea
and see it through to truly stunning results.
Along with the glass reinforced concrete materials, we have also glass reinforced gypsum
(GRG) and glass reinforced plastics (GRP) in our product line. Our glass reinforced
products are characterized by the following properties that gives superior values to your
projects and building assets.
Following are the characteristics of the GRC products from Synaxis and Emirates Ready-
mix.
High strength
Our GRC products have high strength to weight ratio giving it a high
strength property. Our products are also characterized by lower weight.
This means better building ergonomics is managed with our glass
reinforced concrete products.
Durability
Light weight
Our GRC products have low weights of 2 to 4 lbs. per square foot. This
means, faster installation, less structural framing and lower shipping costs.
This also contributes to reduced environmental footprints.
Resistance
Seamless construction
One of the specialties of our glass reinforced concrete materials are its duct
ability and flexibility. This enables the seamless construction capacity
associated with our products. Domes and cupolas are resigned together to
form a one-piece watertight structure.
Our flexible GRC can be virtually any shape or form. This is in combination
with the earlier mentioned qualities such as ductility, higher strength and
flexibility, makes immense design choice scopes. For instance, our products
perform very high in detailing for sculptures, brackets, cupolas, domes etc.
enabling architects to capture all the details.
Page 27
in-house design and drafting teams work closely with you, the client, to capture
your idea on paper. Once all the drawings have been approved, our sculptors carve a
model to your specifications. A mold is then made of fiberglass, steel, wood or rubber
depending on the detail. Into this mold a carefully designed mix of polyester or epoxy
resin is sprayed, along with alkali resistant glass fibers. Virtually any shape or form can be
molded.
What makes our products and services truly unique is our deep commitment to eco-
friendly, sustainable building practices. Our fiberglass reinforced materials can help you
add LEED points to your building. The sustainability fact sheet attached in the annexure
will provide additional information of green/sustainable scores you will achieve through
our GRC products.
GLASS REINFORCED

Page 29
GRC is concrete that uses glass fibers for reinforcement instead of steel. It is typically
cast in a thin section of around 1/2" to 3/4". Since the fibers cannot rust like steel, there
is no need for a protective concrete cover thickness to prevent rusting. With the thin,
hollow construction of GRC products, they can weigh a fraction of the weight of traditional
precast concrete.
GRC is a composite of cement, glass fibers, aggregates and polymers. Synaxis and
Emirates Mix GRC pioneered the design and production of glass fiber reinforced concrete
and our unique methods of detailing, manufacturing and installing GRC that have helped
make our clients, and their projects, successful. With our 12 most
prestigious projects and numerous satisfied clients Synaxis and Emirates Mix is the region
leader in GRC. We have a reputation for solving design and construction problems for
our client's.
Our GRC can be used wherever a light, strong, weather resistant, attractive and fire-
retardant material is required. GRC can be used in manufacturing architectural products
such as wall panels, window surrounds, column covers, soffits, cornices, brackets, quoins,
railings, pilasters, copings, domes, site furnishings, planters, bollards, urns and tables. We
have pioneered its use in other areas including sandwich panels, bus shelters, security
barriers, noise barriers, marine structures, cable ducts, floating pontoons, sunscreens and
storage tanks.
The design freedom that our products in glass reinforced concrete provides to the
architects, engineers, designers and clients are endless. This makes our product unique
in the region. We provide various customization choices; color, stains, textures, shapes,
glazes etc. You choose your products and its customization; we deliver it to you.
Color is one of the most basic elements of architectural design. At Synaxis and Emirates
Mix we offer three basic colors; Limestone White, Limestone Buff and Smooth White, but
those are not your only choices. We also custom match virtually any color. Go ahead; pick
a color from a fabric sample, a pantone color or a paint chip. We will build a custom GFRC
color just for you and your project. GFRC color options include:
• Cast in color: cast in solid and mottled colors in smooth or acid washed
• Stains: A range of concrete stains and antiquing stains
• Glazes: Custom hot glazed finishes or ready to paint
Page 32
Customizing colors
Page 33
Customizing texture
With Synaxis glass reinforced concretes, there are hardly no limits for planners and
architects with our glass reinforced concretes. The selection of 12 different colors in each
of three surface forms the basis. In line with current trends and developments, our GRC
offers a range of additional procedures for the creation of individual building shells.
Our GRC offers a wide range of possibilities for printing the surface of the panel,
irradiating designs, cutting out ornaments or lettering or incorporating a relief-like surface
(e.g. a wood structure).
Customizing shape
We offer GFRC in flats, squares and rectangles, but we also produce sweeping curves,
dramatic angles, spheres, domes, waves, intricate detail and complex geometries. From
avant-garde forms to intricate historical details, bring us your design, any shape and we
will help make it a reality.

reinforced materials, Synaxis imagined and designed Glass Fiber Reinforced Stone, a
product which combines the light weight properties of GFRP with the look and texture of
quarried stone. Its strength and durability have been proven through the years both in
the lab and in the field. With the invention of GFRS, Synaxis Architectural combines the
latest technology with traditional elegance to bring you the best of both worlds.
GFRG is primarily composed of two raw materials: high density alpha-based gypsum and
glass fiber reinforcement. The gypsum plaster should be neutral or of low alkalinity to
ensure its compatibility with "E" glass fibers. Additives commonly used within the plaster
industry are acceptable provided they are used in accordance with the gypsum
manufacturer's recommendations.
Applications of GRP
GFRG is for use where it is not subject to dampness. (Do not use where it is openly
exposed to rain or for fountains, pools or wet locations. For these applications see GFRP).
GFRG can be used wherever a light, strong and fire-retardant material is required

GRC products
Our GRC products are used widely in large building developments (hotels, residential
complex, shopping malls, hospitals etc.) to small residential villa projects, decorative
projects etc. Following is the short list of our GRC products used in various decorative
structures and projects.
At Synaxis ready-mix we are committed to helping you build green, sustainable projects.
Products alone do not provide LEED® points, but the following information will help you
determine how our products can contribute toward the performance of the building. The
main ingredients of Synaxis GRG are based on the plentiful and naturally occurring
minerals used in the manufacture of gypsum cement, aggregates, water and glass fibers.
These natural materials are not normally regarded as pollutants. Synaxis GRC itself is
considered a stable mineral based material, nontoxic and inert.
The internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of
green buildings is the LEED Green Building rating system. If you're designing towards
obtaining the maximum number of LEED credits on your building project, it's important
to understand the sections, credits and products that are impacted by materials choices.
The following details how Synaxis glass reinforced concrete products can help contribute
to qualifying for credits in those sections.
Page 44
Energy performance
Synaxis and Emirates Mix GRC products naturally reduces energy needs of your
building project. It is a low conductor of heat. The relatively thin fiberglass skin allows
designers to maximize the amount of insulation used.
Waste management
Synaxis and Emirates Mix GFRS composite is 100% recyclable into new products. For
most applications, GFRS components and elements are custom molded to size and
shape. This minimizes job site cutting and waste.
Regional sourcing
The regional materials credit may be available to your project depending upon where
the raw materials are extracted, harvested and manufactured.

Capacities
At Synaxis, we believe that buying better means both delivering the best procurement
contracts available and providing supply chain assurance that integrates sustainability
into our procurement decisions.
Our supplier code of conduct and ethical procurement code set clear minimum
standards and expectations for our suppliers. We take care to benchmark our
expectations and approach against the best standards in industry. To be able to truly
embed these standards across our supply chain, we ensure each interaction, negotiation
and tender that engages suppliers has sustainability at its core.
We provide training to our procurement teams in responsible sourcing issues, tools and
techniques, with expectations set as to where and how these should be utilized. We also
set our aim to assess and understand key commodity groups where we can leverage
our purchasing power to influence a broader industry transition to a more sustainable
world.
We actively manage risk as part of our processes, ensuring that we do not become
dependent
upon individual suppliers and vice versa. Our
major works are awarded
following a rigorous competitive tendering process and decision criteria include value,
quality, assurance and relevant CSR indicators.
We assess supply chain risk at a commodity level against various sustainability aspects
tailored to our business and supplier code of conduct. By managing risk and opportunity
at a commodity level, we are able to obtain a greater insight into our supply chain and to
integrate improvements into commodity strategy plans and procurement decisions.
Due diligence of the supply chain is carried out during the ISO certification program by
a third party in the form of desktop or onsite audits, or by Synaxis in the form of
comprehensive onsite audits. All suppliers identified as being high risk have been
evaluated and, in certain cases, audited. In addition, we engage with a number of industry
partnership schemes where there is the opportunity to enable positive industry-wide
change and help develop supplier performance.

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS
Our details of sustainable business and value creation
Page 74
One of our visions is to be the leading building materials supplier in the regions of our
operations, to create value and deliver superior returns for all our stakeholders. As the
regional leader of concrete business, we aim to develop our business to support
sustainable built environment transformation and reduce the impacts of climate change.
With the global population on track
to exceed 9 billion by 2050, the construction sector
must play its
part in delivering the sustainable
cities, infrastructure and transport
Every year, almost USD 10 trillion is spent on the buildings, infrastructure, and industrial
installations that are the backbone of the global economy, and demand is rising.
Construction-
construction industry productivity has trailed that of other sectors for decades, increasing
only 1% in the last 20 years. The industry urgently needs to evolve and become more
productive if it is to meet the growing need for sustainable cities and infrastructure.
While demand for sustainable products is undoubtedly increasing, the opportunities vary
both between and within markets in regions where we operate, our company
experiences
a spectrum of priorities across our customer base. At one end, public sector
clients and
large construction companies are leading the
way as they aim to deliver
sustainable, certified buildings at reduced costs - both financial and environmental.
However, at the other end, smaller customers in particular may have to base their
decisions on a short-term view, prioritizing upfront costs over the long-term benefits of
sustainable products and solutions in order to win contracts based on lowest tendered
build price. Within this range of priorities, there are opportunities for Synaxis.
Page 75
Green buildings
More innovative concrete design and construction techniques could boost the
productivity of the construction industry. For example, by using
more thermally efficient
and higher performance concrete mix recipes, using faster in-situ concrete formwork
systems and through incorporating more precast technology. These models not only
deliver economic benefits but also offer significant environmental benefits over the
lifetime of the building.
With 30-40% of solid waste generation coming from the built environment, the circular,
or closed loop economy, provides a significant opportunity for our industry to reduce
costs, environmental impacts and conserve resources. Some of the biggest opportunities
lie in substituting virgin raw materials with wastes and by-products, and using alternative
fuels in production. We need to continue working to identify viable waste streams and
ensure they are put to the best possible use to maximize their value.
Page 76
We believe that it is our culture of safety that makes us different. Safety has long been a
top priority for Synaxis and we are united in our common goal that nobody gets hurt
at work. Embedding a strong safety culture is driven by management at every level and
for us, safety is a non- negotiable aspect of doing business with integrity. Effective safety
risk management is vital to maintaining our license to operate. We apply our Health &
Safety Policy rigorously across all areas in our company and have clear lines of
accountability through operational management up to the managing partner.
We recognize the importance of individual behaviors, particularly within the context of
a
strong global framework and we empower individuals to be responsible for their own
safety. We are also well practiced at integrating acquisitions
into our safety culture and
have developed specific processes to address the often-significant challenges in
countries and regions that traditionally have
poorer safety records.
Managing safety
Continued development of our safety culture is
a key focus for our company and we
emphasize behavioral safety and employee risk awareness. Any breaches of safety
procedures are subject to disciplinary action. To demonstrate the strategic imperative of
safety, we run several internal safety award schemes at business unit and regional level
which recognize superior safety performance, safety innovations and safety
achievements.
We have invested in all aspects
of health and safety during the past years. Investments
include machinery guarding, mobile plant safety upgrades, improvements in platforms
and fall protection measures, electrical systems upgrades, pedestrian/mobile plant
segregation and noise and dust reduction initiatives. Transport safety continues to be a
high priority for both on- site and off-site transport.

Environmental policy
As a diversified company, our activities vary across the full range of the building materials
sector - from heavy side businesses to light side manufacturing, and from production to
distribution. The potential environmental impacts and opportunities across these
activities vary with each line of business. To ensure a consistent approach, we apply our

Environmental investments
Emissions to air can have significant impacts on human health and the environment if not
properly controlled. Excluding CO2, the main emissions from our activities are
particulates, nitrogen oxide (NOx) and sulphur oxide (SOx). They can
arise as fugitive
emissions, from open storage of materials, transfer of materials through uncovered
conveyors, and from loading and unloading operations.
We are committed to implementing all aspects
of our environmental policy and reducing
our impact on the environment, including reducing air emissions from all relevant
activities. We manage stack emissions by investing in modern, efficient abatement
technologies and regular maintenance. Control of fugitive emissions is achieved through
the building of enclosures for material storage and conveyor belts, and by paving plant
areas and internal roads.
